Loretta Afraid of Bear Holy Dance is descended from Chief American Horse. We first met her on Pine Ridge Reservation with her husband, Tom Cook, her Mother, Beatrice Long Visitor Holy Dance, and Aunt Rita Long Visitor Holy Dance. Her mother and aunt were two founding members of the Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers.
