Introducing Assay, risk markets for onchain finance. Every DeFi yield has a risk price. The problem is that the market cannot see it. Assay makes that risk tradeable through markets for specific onchain conditions like depegs and rate spikes resolved from chain state.

The financialization of compute is here. Architect has launched 24/7 perpetuals on Nvidia H100 GPU prices — the first regulated futures contracts on compute, built with @OrnnExchange’s live market indices. The AI economy has its first exchange-traded futures market.

About $ETH rates and why there’s no much to worry about 1) Justin moving billions around happens every other week, he always deposit back. 2) instant APY is quite meaningless, the avg borrow rate of ETH stays sustainable, you should enjoy the nice supply yield boost while it last (won’t last long) 3) Aave can and has flatten the interest rate curve to reduce pain for borrowers via risk steward we are the only protocol with quick counter-measure tools to help users. 4) Aave has the largest network of LPs and deepest liquidity of all crypto, this is why this kind of events are quickly solved. When I write this borrow rates back to 3.6% 5) we currently have 10b$ of eth liquidity, this means our $ETH books alone are larger than the whole size of second biggest lending protocol, the larger we grow the less impact an outlier liquidity event have on us, this is an Aave unfair advantage over everyone else, liquidity is king. 6) fixed lending is a great idea and V4 allow this, but the core of a lending protocol must be market floating rates as it’s the most fair model. 7) rates are already back very close to normal, will be back as usual in a few hours, if you read typical concenooor thread telling you Aave, lido, DeFI and eth will die , safely mute them and move on. Just use Aave.

We process millions of onchain actions on @layer3xyz and kept seeing this massive gap between what's trending socially vs what people actually do with their wallets. So we built Signal to surface the real patterns. Less noise, more substance. Pretty excited about this one! app.layer3.xyz/signal
Introducing Layer3 Signal: the onchain relevance index. Most attention metrics in crypto are built on social noise. Signal is different. It shows where real attention, usage, and participation are shifting onchain.

To interoperate, L2s need to communicate. Today, the most secure way for L2s to do this is pass messages via the Ethereum L1—but that takes 15+ min & costs $$ For interop to work well, L2s need to swap messages in seconds. Let's explore how we can make this possible. 🧵👇

Not a comment on Espresso specifically, but there's definitely a trend in crypto of projects and investors making long-term decisions based on w/e narrative is most hyped at the time. This almost never works out. In fact, it's probably responsible for incinerating more capital and wasting more of ppl's lives than almost anything else in crypto A few examples off the top of my head: - When GMX took off, every 2nd pitch deck was a perp deck or "GMX for [insert chain] - When Eigenlayer was all the rage, you had a million undifferentiated AVS projects or "Eigenlayer on Solana" - After the success of Base and then Blast, everyone pivoted to building L2s The reality is it simply takes too long to build and launch a project, even if it's just an uninspired copycat idea. By the time they're ready to ship, no one cares anymore as the FOTM narrative has moved to something else. Their "valuation comps" get destroyed, and builders are left having to spend the next few years working on something they never believed in in the first place Most of the things that look like "get rich quick" hacks in crypto are actually traps. They will steal your life and your capital and give you nothing in return The solution is to build something you believe in and that fundamentally makes sense. The market will eventually come to you. Don't over-anchor to hype or to "what the market wants", especially if you're looking at inflated post-launch low-float high FDVs as your barometer of what the market wants. As Osho once said: "the ppl are retarded". This is especially true in crypto markets
Genuinely don’t understand all the hate on @EspressoSys lately (read the replies below in the quoted tweet) I get that they have pivoted their biz model / positioning several times But isn’t that literally what startups are supposed to do until they find product market fit?

This is fucking disgraceful. Lecturing a man who has been leading a country through war - a nation torn apart by a brutal dictator, fighting for its homeland with blood. I’m not American, but I’m embarrassed on their behalf.

opening session at @consensus_hk just happened! i’m looking forward to the following panels: “How Sovereign Wealth Funds are Accessing Digital Assets” “Pushing the Boundaries: Views on the World’s Most Progressive Regulations” “How East and West Projects Achieve Global Product-Market Fit Across Regions” “What do Users in Asia Want?” And finally, the 2025 Developer Report: @ElectricCapital by @MariaShen. There is a lot more to unpack in Asia such as—24/7 atomic settlements of stablecoins, and going from very tight regulation to having a light touch (in support of responsible innovation), the generation of yield from real-world assets (in addition to tokens!), newer funding models to democratize finance that focus on ~abstracted ui, for underserved communities. Stables have gone from $5B to $200B in four years, and I’m so happy for the rest of SEA to access the industry. I’m excited for young people who are system thinkers, programmers, community builders and creative expressionists to rebuild our markets.
