With Bun.sql, you don't need an ORM to get type-safety. bun-sqlgen generates null-safe result types for your queries, checked against your real DB schema. And you don't need a database running, so no Docker in your CI. Repo below

Finally a good reason to use a MacBook besides the hardware being great
Omarchy 4.5 will ship with full compatibility for M1, M2, M3, and Neo! Incredible achievement from the Omarchy M team. The installer makes this so smooth, the dual boot makes it a no brainer. Apple hardware liberated. M4-6 on the way. WE CAN FIX EVERYTHING!

Happened faster than I thought teapawt.net/dhh/status/21179925114…
Crazy I care about none of the new features introduced in macOS 27 @dhh when Omarchy on Apple Silicon please!

Just realized that it's actually the first time in my life in which I'm happy to pay for a subscription. It's also the first time I don't feel robbed paying it

True. In a microVM with a persistent filesystem Everything else is over engineering until you have a lot of traffic
Replying to @TusharKapil003
a simple .sqlite would do the job for most of the people here

Another reason why you wanna use your own harness and not one where companies change what you can or can’t do at will.
ANTHROPIC IS CRACKING DOWN ON VIDEO GAME REWRITES 🚨 Claude Code picked up a new rule around Oct 27, sent from Anthropic’s servers under a flag called "tengu_heron_brook". There’s no setting to turn it off. The full rule: “Do build original games, games in a genre, and games from the user’s own designs and assets. Don’t build a recreation of a specific existing game, even if it is renamed or called original.” Is this the end of game rewrites, modding and everything in between?

Borrowing this genius slogan from @dhh to apply it to the smart home. We can fix everything and finally make every house permeated with devices that feel all part of the same intelligent "computer" no matter what's their brand. Smart home is going to see a new wave soon

When will we stop buying phones and laptops from a fashion company?

And of course this Memvid works like a charm on nibrun.com. Once you have the primitives (Linux VM and persistent file storage) you can do anything. And these are the only things you should pay for
The entire RAG industry is getting challenged by… a single file 🤯 It’s called Memvid. It packages your agent’s data, embeddings, search index and metadata into one portable `.mv2` file. The original version used MP4. The current version uses a purpose-built binary format. - No separate database server - Built-in text and vector search - Append-only memory with history tracking - Local, offline retrieval - Python, Node.js, Rust and CLI support Your agent’s memory becomes something you can copy, move and search without running a separate database service. 100% open-source.

Can be cut further down to less than $10
We used to pay AWS close to $8,000 a month. Today, our entire company runs on 3 rented bare metal servers at Hetzner. That's 4 SaaS products with more than 50,000 users (apps, databases, background jobs and monitoring included). The bill is around $300 a month. Everyone told me it would be unstable. It's been the opposite. Our uptime is close to 100%. The other day, we had about 15 seconds of downtime. An AI agent caught the alarm, fixed it and sent me the report on Telegram. I read it when I woke up, and not a single user noticed 👇

Your @AmazonAlexa devices are going to become waaay smarter and useful soon, finally

You can now get a super cheap Linux VM with persistent file storage. And the file storage is yours, fully. Bring Your Own Bucket

Are we approaching the end of the hardware as a service era? The pattern I see: you connect your coding agent to the firmware you study it, replicate it like people are doing with adobe/games. Encryption and other security features might protect in using existing services, but users can always flash the device with new os and have their coding agents rebuild the services from a blank canvas. It takes only one person doing it and sharing the method in an md even, but even this is not essential, just makes it more efficient. > I ve had friends who jailbroke 8 sleep, to get metrics without sub >@ilbert_luca is trying this with Alexa, just to give her an openclaw brain, so she’s not stuck to 2013. >I saw a repo doing this for whoop And I think there’s many more examples. >the posts going viral with spyware on Samsung TVs where people are using zero day vulnerabilities found with coding agents to “look inside” The exciting thing about this: You can bring back to life wearables where the tech is amazing but companies discontinued them (my beloved Oxa, your time to work again is coming). Also, one off purchase devices usually are open with their data. I’ve been playing around with my concept 2 rower, which connects with whoop for Hr and it’s super fun. What might prevent this: 1. Community features - you might continue paying for whoop to mog your friends with your sleep scores. I don’t think this will be the case as new communities will emerge, and if they are good enough people will connect with friends there. 2. services requiring heavy compute and proprietary algorithms- offline processing of sleep data, algorithms that where built/verified by/with big volumes of population data might be more accurate or efficient to run on bigger servers. I think this will be more important for medical devices rather than leisure ones. 3. Devices that give you access to ecosystems, like Google, Apple or Amazon assistants. But with the agentic web evolving alternative ecosystems will emerge and new assistants will access them. And if it’s not entirely possible today (which I believe is to a big extent) it will be completely possible in the following months. Curious to see if this to the limit will extend to robots, as robot learning improves and hardware is depployed. Will this be the equivalent of open weight models to the big labs today? I guess the cycle comes back, and the way to make money from hardware is owning, renting it or leasing it.

Dictating a coding prompt is only useful if you can trust the text that gets pasted. I'm building Open Flow because I want that workflow without sending recordings to a server. One design choice matters a lot: how much should "cleanup" change? 1/4

Why do AI coding agents keep adding 1:1 tables to the db instead of simply adding columns to existing tables? Who told them such an anti-pattern?

Stop subscribing, just pay for raw compute! Steps: - find the SaaS you want to replace on vibecodeityourself.com/ - copy the prompt - add "use local sqlite and deploy it to nibrun.com" at the end Want to leave later? Export the entire app state as a zip and go

I've been saying this for a long time and I won't stop: you don't need an ORM
Stuff like this might finally kill ORMs, I’m incredibly hyped
