If I was in charge of the world it would be a hanging offence to play the ring doorbell sound on tv. The spaniel is now charging around wondering why I’m not answering the door 🙄

Happy happy birthday to @mooramana! There’s a lot of rubbish on this platform but there are also good people and she’s one of them. I’m very grateful twitter brought us together at the very worst time. We’ve had some adventures since then!!

Yesterday we heard in training how important it is to rest our dogs between tracking days and let them do what makes them happy. Apparently high winds, random sticks and open fields make her happy

We did it!!! We are officially now qualified as an operational search team for lost dogs. I’m so proud of us both, we’ve worked hard for this and the feedback was really lovely

Assessment day 2 done. She worked really nicely again, waiting for pics of that but here she is letting off steam after her tracking. One more day to go 🤞🤞

Day 1 of our level 3 tracking assessment complete. She tracked really nicely, fingers crossed she was actually on the right track at the time! Two more days before we find out if we have qualified.

This proud little face knows she did good….first place in our scentops trial tonight! So pleased to see our hard work coming together just at the right time

Back to Scentwork this morning, trying to put some of our new learning into practice

And finally a ground search for a teeny tiny odour. She hasn’t done much ground searching so I’m chuffed with this one

And then you remember what you’re supposed to be doing but make sure you do it the most awkward way possible (she indicated twice from above on the hide but didn’t get rewarded because she shouldn’t have been up there!)

When windfall pears are way more interesting than searching and listening to mum…..

Two years ago today I brought home a tiny little cocker spaniel puppy. Fair to say nothing has been the same since. She’s brought chaos and destruction but she’s also brought new friends and joy so there’s that….

Away from Prague, this rosette arrived. We’ve only been doing rally a couple of months, entered our first trial and got “outstanding”! Obedience doesn’t come naturally to Charlie so I’m thrilled - she is too, she just forgot to tell her face

Finally home at 1am and this morning I gave the dog her present from Prague. I think she’s happy.

Further proof of my grown upness. My level of excitement when drinks and food arrive on a little train!
