An anonymous developer shipped a tool that got 3 upvotes on Hacker News. Three months later, it's one of the 5 most-starred repos in GitHub history.
No one knows his real name. He goes by @morluto "member of technically staff."
On April 14, 2026, he created a repo called REA: Reverse Engineer Anything. In July he shared it on Hacker News. It got 3 points.
For almost three months, nothing happened.
On October 5, he had 237 followers.
Then AI agents got good enough to actually use it.
In one week, he shipped from version 4.0 to 6.4. Daily downloads went from 798 to 34,790.
On October 8, Matthew Berman posted three words about it: "Software is done." 3.8 million views.
On October 9, REA hit #1 on GitHub trending and by October 13, it had 192,000 stars.
Perplexity turned it into a built-in skill. 120+ developers started contributing.
This week, it passed OpenClaw with 403,000+ stars. becoming one of the 5 most-starred repos in GitHub history.
His explanation for all of it?
"i wrote a set of tools for agents to RE effectively : )"
Imagine if he'd stopped after the 3 upvotes.

Hood morning guys. Another donation has been carried out today, through our African community as we’ve just donated 100 books to kids, in a Catholic Church in Sierra Leone 🇸🇱
This is our second charity act & we will be rolling out more during the week as we’re on a mission to donate to kids around the world.
Thank you to @MEADGod & The Pons Family

Was @MEADGod talking about PONSLA donating books this week or it’s just coincidential ? Who knows ? 🤔
Anyway, one thing is certain, this week is definitely one for the books 💚🚘📚
PONS has paid over $25M to token creators in less than 2 months. The question is; what are creators doing with these fees ?
PONSLA has delivered 1,000 note books, 50 toy cars & 1,200 writing materials, to be donated to kids in Africa. We’re not stopping here, this is just first of many around the world.
A big thanks to @MEADGod & everyone at @ponsdotfamily 💚🚘📚

I've always had respect for the startups building on GRAM/TON. I know y'all are working to bring better products to users and grow the ecosystem.
I founded TonTradingBot (TonTrade) - a project that led the market and stayed ahead of every competitor by a wide margin. Today I'm back with RedoTrade, and on both tech and trading experience, I'm confident it's the #1 trading bot on TON.
I'm always happy to support other bots and want to see them win. Competition is what pushes the whole ecosystem forward.
But there's one thing I won't stay quiet about: transparency.
I'm calling out DTrade not because they're a competitor, but for three clear reasons.
1. Fees. Every fee a user pays should be public, transparent, and verifiable. Users have the right to know exactly what they're paying and what they're paying for. This isn't a minor detail - it's the bare minimum for any financial product.
2. How they behaved. When TonTrade hit internal problems and was forced to shut down, instead of competing on product, they used that moment to profit from someone else's crisis. Once our channel was deleted, they took over the Telegram handle and used it to advertise their own bot. That is not how you build a healthy ecosystem.
3. Copycat. A lot of the ideas, implementations, and work TonTrade pioneered were copied - without any credit or respect for the team that built them. From the user interface down to individual features. Most recently, RedoTrade shipped fee refunds on failed transactions - within days, DTrade had the exact same feature. They don't innovate - they imitate.
I'm not afraid of competition. On the contrary, I want strong competitors, because that's how TON levels up. But competition has to be built on transparency, respect, and real value - not on exploiting someone's worst moment or trading away user trust.
Starting today, I'm monitoring on-chain activity tied to anything I believe affects user interests. If I find something that isn't transparent, I'll publish it with data and evidence, and let the community judge for itself.
If the past is acknowledged honestly and there's a real apology, I'm ready to close this chapter.
If not, I'll follow this through to the end - because an ecosystem only grows sustainably when transparency comes first.
