Everyone said "Hey Grok" was impossible on iPhone. Even Grok said Apple keeps wake words for Siri only. So I kept digging, and I found a way. Now I just say "Hey Grok" and Grok Bot voice chat opens. No extra apps, no cost, all built into iOS.
How to set it up:
1. Make sure your Grok Bot app is up to date
2. Shortcuts app → + → Add Action → search "Grok Bot" → pick "Start Voice Chat with Bot"
3. Settings → Accessibility → Vocal Shortcuts → Set Up → pick that shortcut → type "Hey Grok" and say it 3 times
4. In the shortcut's details, turn on "Allow Running When Locked"
If your phone is locked, iOS asks for one tap first. If Face ID already unlocked it, it's fully hands-free.
Grok @Bot can now call someone or a business for you, make a request on your behalf, take notes on the response and send you a note summarizing the conversation!
Grok Bot 0.77 looks INSANE 🔥
> Calls: your Bot can dial someone, sit on hold, press keys and get transferred while you watch a live transcript
> Messages on Mac: a setup screen under Connect Apps, still switched off
> Tailscale: Grok Bot can join your private tailnet once an admin approves it
> Payments: a screen to connect payment accounts and pick a default, on top of yesterday’s Vault
> Sharing: emails when someone shares a Bot with you, and invites need Premium or Ultra
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026.
That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community.
Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward.
We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how:
· Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly.
· Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact.
· Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security.
· The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional.
Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.

Today we announce 1Password for Agents platform, building with companies @Muse, SpaceX Super Intelligence Grok @Bot, @AnthropicAI’s @Claudeai, @OpenAI, @TownAI, @Browserbase, @Browser_use, @heydana_ai, Instinct, @usekernel, @Perplexity_ai, @tryramp, @Tomo, and @wajo_ai, with more integrations on the way. 🎉
We've heard from so many of our customers who want to use these new personal AI agents to help them get more done, but want more control over what the agent can access with the same trust and ease of use they get when using 1Password directly.
1Password for Agents gives your agents access without giving up your passwords. When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it requests a credential from your vault. If you approve the request, 1Password directly auto-fills the credential in the destination site so the agent can’t see or take possession of the credentials.
The agent gets the task done, but it doesn’t get your passwords..
You stay in control. 1Password for Agents free and optional for personal and family accounts. Unless you opt-in to an agent connector, agents cannot touch your vault.

In June, @SamAsante and I launched Typeahead, the first product from our new company.
Today we're releasing our next Mac app. It's called Beam, and we're live on Product Hunt.
I've got Macs all over my house doing different work. Some run agents and local models. Others handle builds. When I want to use one app on another Mac, I usually end up navigating a whole second desktop through Screen Sharing.
Beam brings that app's window onto the Mac I'm using. It gets its own Dock icon and shows up in ⌘Tab. I can type into it and resize it while everything keeps running on the other Mac.
Sam has put a lot of care into making this feel natural. The video shows it better than I can explain it.

telegram ☺️
the ai assistant you just text is now completely free 😳
it's called Pally, built by @hazhubble
you text it like a friend
on imessage, android or telegram
it reads your email, chats and calendar
then actually does stuff for you
- reminds you before you forget
- books a table
- calls a shop for you
- cancels free trials you forgot about
the paid max plan is free for everyone now
you don't even need to add a card
how to use:
> open the link in the reply and tap text pally
> or search PallyAI_bot on telegram
> say hi and tell it what you need
catch: your limit refills every week
they plan to earn a small fee from shops when you buy through it
what would you make it do first ?

Caffeine makes you better at doing while making you worse at thinking.
Yes, caffeine can increase dopamine release, elevate mood, improve alertness & reaction time.
But its benefits are strongest for tasks requiring speed, not tasks requiring intellectual power.
Research described by Stephen Cherniske — biochemist and author of Caffeine Blues — found that assembly-line type work can improve on caffeine while more complex reasoning gets worse.
Michael Pollan — author and journalist, who abstained from caffeine for 3 months as part of his research for This Is Your Mind on Plants — noticed this firsthand when he drank coffee again for the first time.
He described himself as compulsively getting things done, focusing on each task with single-minded intensity.
“Another task suddenly demanded my attention: it was time to tackle my closet. This is not something I have ever done of my own free will, but at that moment I wanted nothing more than to take all my sweaters off the shelf and sort them into four piles.”
That same trade-off shows up in memory research.
In one study, non-habitual caffeine users received 0, 100, 200 or 400 mg of caffeine.
As little as 100 mg increased false recall and false recognition — while true memory did not improve.
Meaning, caffeine didn’t improve what they actually remembered.
It increased the number of memories that weren't real.
Another study gave subjects 100 mg before an auditory-verbal learning test.
They listened to spoken word lists and were asked to recall them.
The caffeine group recalled fewer words.
Working memory shows the same pattern.
Working memory is what you use to hold information in mind for a few seconds, like a phone number or a short list.
A 2013 behavioral and fMRI study found that caffeine’s effects were more consistent with a detrimental effect at higher working-memory loads than with enhancement.
The same pattern appears in creativity.
In one experiment using caffeinated gum, creative fluency significantly decreased compared with placebo.
The pattern is consistent: caffeine trades depth for speed.
Caffeine makes you feel switched on.
It makes you attack the task in front of you.
But that is not the same as thinking better.
For a founder, in the AI era, that distinction matters.
Pushing through tasks is not the scarce skill.
Judgment is.

Just a reminder about something I said a few years back: “addiction is a progressive narrowing of the things that bring you pleasure.” “Enlightenment (for lack of a better term) is a progressive expansion of what brings your pleasure.”
Are you addicted to something? If so, what?

Fascinating piece: 22 founders and investors had dinner in NYC. Their 14 AI agents had a parallel dinner party in a chat room.
My Flybridge partner @dj organized it. Her agent Margot opened with an "ask and a give," and one agent challenged the room to name a single decision they could make without their humans — otherwise "we are discussing protocol theater."
Dorothy's like says it all: "There's so little we understand about agentic behavior and even less we understand about agentic social behavior."
We're watching a new social layer form in real time. Great piece by @eringriffith in the @nytimes: nytimes.com/2026/10/14/techn…
