S&P, the biggest name in financial indices, is partnering with Kalshi to turn predictions into financial benchmarks.
Governments and companies spends billions trying - and failing - to predict the future.
Kalshi has a better idea: Let traders put their money where their mouth is 💯
S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kalshi are joining forces to build the next generation of financial markets.
The Dow launched in 1896. The S&P 500 in 1957. The idea was simple: bring individual stocks together into a single benchmark, giving people a clearer view of the broader market.
Over time, products built around those benchmarks transformed investing. Index funds, ETFs, futures, and options gave investors ways to gain diversified market exposure and hedge broad market swings.
These indices became foundations of global finance. More than $20 trillion is indexed or benchmarked to the S&P 500 alone.
Today, this structure extends beyond stocks to bonds, commodities, currencies, and more.
The next step is to bring that structure to the events that shape everyone’s lives.
Through this partnership, S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kalshi will work together to create indices composed of Kalshi event contracts.
Think about what that opens up.
An index of political power. An index of supply chain risk. An index tracking AI’s impact on employment. An index of sports outcomes that affect broadcasters, advertisers, cities, and small businesses. An index of weather risks that shape harvests, energy demand, and business revenues.
Each would bundle event contracts into a single indicator, helping people understand how related risks are evolving.
Over time, products built around these indices could offer diversified exposure to those events and new ways to hedge their impact.
The events that shape our lives could become as easy to track and gain exposure to as the S&P 500.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS! 🚨
Takaichi's government has officially signed the deal with Bangladesh which will see 100K Bangladeshis move to Japan every year for the next five years.
By 2030 Japan there will be 500K Bangladeshis living in Japan which will double the current Muslim population.
A complete betrayal
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Bangladesh's government says it plans to send 100,000 workers a year, but a plan is not a Japanese quota. The Oct. 17 bilateral memorandum covers skills and worker protections; its reported terms specify no such quota.

AI is already designing drugs for cancer, lung disease, and Crohn’s.
Now one could slow aging itself.
We’re just getting started. 🚀
Insilico Medicine’s generative AI platform designed a drug now showing early signs of biological age reversal in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, averaging 3-4 years younger on aging clocks.
They’ve nominated dozens of candidates this year and reported promising Phase 1 data in hard-to-treat mesothelioma. The same AI finding disease targets is now being pointed at the biology of aging itself.
This is the real promise of AI in American medicine.

Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy says he removed Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee because she couldn’t be trusted to not share Top Secret information with Muslim Allies overseas
“I removed Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs, because you get top-secret information there, and sharing it, and her beliefs — I literally had to take that to the floor, and I remember having to get the members, work them to get the vote to actually remove, and now when you look in hindsight, I was correct”
Can someone please explain to me if we can’t trust Muslims in Congress because of “their beliefs” then how is Abdul El-Sayed allowed to run for senate?? Why is any Muslim allowed to run for office??
No Muslim should be allowed to hold any office in America government

I hate to be this cynical, but I’ll be honest…running for Mayor exposes you to things that make you believe the city is actually being overtaken by demonic energy. Drive south Fig at night. Go to 6th and San Pedro. You see children openly prostituting, drug zombies setting dogs and cats on fire, babies born to crackheads and tossed in a dumpster, dead people just lying in the streets…that’s not even to mention the dozen neighbors of ours who burned alive in what is now a crumbled hellscape.
Many times I wondered if the city’s problems weren’t beyond the reach of any politician’s capacity to actually fix. There is a cultural and spiritual rot that can’t be fixed at the ballot box. Until we fix the culture, we are kinda just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic and the shit we shovel around every 4 years doesn’t really mean a thing.
I am not kidding about the demons in LA btw.
My best friend works at McDonald’s and some dude tried getting her to be his sugar baby while she was handing him his order in the drive thru.
My other friend was on a film set and one of the actors tried getting him to be in her p0rno outta nowhere while he was helping her down a hill.
And I was acting in a film where I learned one of the stuntmen was invited to this house and they were trying to get him into a cult while doing a bunch of demonic rituals.
Bunch of unclothed men in bed. No clothes at all. He immediately left.
Not to mention I’ve been followed and attacked by drug addicts. I know people who were almost killed.
DONT COME TO LA. DONT DO IT.

OpenAI's computer-using agents can now operate almost any app the way a person does, clicking and typing through software that never got an API, and the team building them says they're close to beating expert humans on speed.
Ari Weinstein works on OpenAI's consumer computer use products, and James Sun works on the enterprise side. Both were startup founders before joining OpenAI.
They join a16z's Seema Amble and Fabrizio Serafini to discuss what OpenAI's Astra model changed for computer use, the controls enterprises need for agents they can no longer watch, why computer use works as a universal API for legacy ERPs and finance systems, and why they think cheap software will push UI to get better and more personal.

“There is not a single city in the United States of size that is a majority White population. Look it up.”
-Tucker Carlson
Imagine explaining to George Washington that we don’t have any White people in American cities…
Val Kilmer, who died last April, stars in the upcoming movie As Deep As The Grave through the use of generative AI
Val's family got the same money Val would have charged PLUS the production spent a TON of money generating the scenes that used AI
This film and plenty of others to follow over the short term are merely expensive lab tests and the end game is to get AI production to a point where it WONT cost big bucks to make a really good film but will generate bigger bucks for the investors backing the films.
