The words finance and medicine already use. Held as a book. Conversations, not a listing.

The infrastructure work is rarely the exciting bit, but it’s often the bit that matters most. The easier ENS becomes to integrate and maintain, the easier it is for applications to build around it. That’s the long game.
It's been a long time coming, but ENSv2 is now live! When ENS first launched, teams would integrate using the docs, and in many cases, no one even knew who was maintaining the libraries like web3.py or go-ens. It took about a full year just to get all ENS-integrated apps upgraded to the new universal resolver. ENS is stronger now that we have better coordination across the ecosystem of apps that support it. Our audit process was very interesting given how powerful llm models have become. New edge cases were discovered that I don't think would have been had v2 launched a few years ago. Overall, it's been a labor of love. I think it is very important to bring your full self to your work -- your weirdness, your aesthetic preferences, your annoyances and desires. When making this sizzle reel launch video, we didn't like any of the stock soundtracks, so I dusted off Ableton and decided to make a backing track on my own.

The future of securities is being rebuilt. Tokenisation. Digital ownership. Programmable financial markets. The infrastructure is evolving. The question is what the next generation of financial companies will be called. securitise.si A name aligned with the direction of travel. Available for acquisition. securitise.si

The future of securities is being rebuilt onchain. Tokenisation. Digital ownership. Programmable financial markets. But timing matters. Buying a domain and building a business on it are two different decisions. They don’t have to happen on the same day, in the same month, or even in the same year. securitise.si A domain aligned with the next evolution of financial infrastructure. That doesn’t mean the market is ready for every idea today. It means the right name can be acquired before the opportunity fully arrives. The acquisition clock and the development clock can run on different schedules. Some domains describe the past. Others position you for what comes next. The question is not only who should own this domain. It’s also whether the right company is ready to build on it. Who in the tokenisation ecosystem should own securitise.si? 🔗 securitise.si

Rick’s point about timing is spot on. Buying a domain and building a business on it are two very different decisions. You don’t need to believe mass adoption is imminent to recognise the value of securing the right digital asset before it arrives. The acquisition clock and the development clock can run on different schedules. That’s the thinking behind securitise.si. I’m not betting on when the market arrives. I’m holding a name that could make sense for the right company when it does. The question is: who in the tokenisation ecosystem sees the same possibility? 🔗 securitise.si
I’m not suggesting or recommending that anyone build on a .SI at this point. I’m watching for the anchor tenants. The companies that move in, invest, build, and give people a reason to show up. Until that happens, you have to understand that building there could be a long slog. Maybe adoption comes quickly. Maybe it takes years. Maybe it never develops the way you expect. A major company moving in could change the picture dramatically. But you can’t build your entire plan around assuming it’s about to happen. Don’t move prematurely. Don’t exhaust your money, energy, and patience before the market even gets started. That’s why I keep saying: TIMING IS EVERYTHING. Think about how much of life depends on it. In the stock market, two people can buy the same stock and have completely different results because of when they buy and when they sell. In real estate, you can recognize where a city will grow and still arrive decades before the roads, customers, and commerce. In technology, a product can be brilliant and still struggle because the infrastructure, habits, or demand haven’t caught up. In business, you can hire too soon, expand too fast, launch too early, or wait until the opportunity has passed. A farmer understands planting season. A retailer understands the holiday season. A restaurant owner understands the difference between opening before the neighborhood arrives and opening when the neighborhood is hungry. Trains. Planes. Appointments. A head-on collision. A near miss. Sometimes a few seconds change a life. Baseball, basketball, and football make timing easy to see. But it matters just as much when you’re buying an asset, launching a company, or deciding when to commit time & money. You can have the right idea, the right name, and the right ambition, yet still have the wrong timing. Buying a domain and building a business on it are two different decisions. They don’t have to happen on the same day, in the same month, or even in the same year. For me, it was 30 years before the moment became right. I can acquire a name because I see a possibility. That doesn’t mean I believe the market is ready for a business on it today. The acquisition clock and the development clock can run on different schedules. Know which clock you’re watching. Give yourself enough runway to wait, enough discipline to watch, and enough energy to move when the evidence supports it. Don’t burn yourself out waiting for the starting gun. TIMING IS EVERYTHING!!

A lot of businesses spend years building a category. Then they spend millions trying to own a meaningful position within it. Which makes me wonder why people still underestimate the value of owning the word that describes the category in the first place.

Escrow is one of the few words in commerce where the term and the trust it implies are the same thing - nobody has to explain what an escrow service does, the word already did that. escrow.eth takes that and makes it resolvable: a direct, unambiguous identity for a product built entirely on the promise the word already carries. The kind of alignment most brand names spend years trying to manufacture.

.si is taking up a ridiculous amount of bandwidth at the moment But that’s part of what makes ENS interesting. The narrative evolves, the opportunities change, and the long term value is still being figured out.

Before you waste another hour arguing with someone who will never see your point, remember this: A bee doesn’t waste its time trying to convince a fly that honey tastes better than shit. It just gets on with making honey. Not everyone will understand your vision. Not everyone will agree with your decisions. And not everyone is worth convincing. Entrepreneurs, especially, need to learn this. Your time is too valuable. Your energy is too precious. Your ambition is too important. Stop trying to win arguments with people who aren’t going where you’re going. Put that energy into building something they can’t ignore.

90 names in a week and I’m over here with little old securitise.si 😂 Clearly need to get planting.
I am finished with the aggressive part of putting my .SI portfolio together. Here is my complete .si portfolio of 90 names. I invested in array of strategic names. It doesn't take that many to get a seat at the table. And the bonus is I get to look at it through the eye of a domain investor, which keeps me safe, and then through the eye of a builder that allows me to dream. I have a well rounded group of names of which one success pays for all others. That's been my formula for 30 years. It's a group. It's a seat at the table. I don't have to have 89 winners. I have to have one or two winners that make the others not losers. And as I do with so many other things, I built this portfolio in front of everybody in exactly one week. From nothing. From scratch. I'm comfortable with my acquisitions. It's like popcorn. They don't all have to pop for it to be a winner. And just like the beanstalk, these were me planting seeds. You have to plant seeds before you can reap the rewards. Some of them are gonna germinate. Some of them won't. Maybe none of them will germinate. But I have 6500 others that just takes one to germinate. It won't matter, and that's the point you're buying time and you're expanding at the same moment. And when you do your job right, everything pays for itself, and the risk is minimal. The more finance moves onchain, the more interesting identity becomes. Who issued the asset? Who controls it? Where does it settle? Who are you actually dealing with? We tend to focus on the transaction. But the identity behind it matters just as much.

Some ENS names become more interesting with time. bot.eth is a good example. With Grok, AI assistants and autonomous agents pushing bots into the mainstream, the word is taking on a different significance. I wonder whether the people holding the best ENS names see what’s coming or whether some of the most interesting conversations are happening quietly behind the scenes…

ENSv2 will store GLEIF records identifying companies at root level and combining web3 and RWA 🍻
If you work in finance and ENS still sounds like “crypto domain names”, it’s probably worth looking at it again. Because the interesting part isn’t really the .eth. It’s what happens when identity, ownership and financial infrastructure become programmable. 🧵

The financial world is already moving towards: 24/7 settlement tokenised assets stablecoins programmable money onchain funds digital identity AI agents All of those things create more machines, more accounts and more transactions. Which creates one very old problem: How do we know who we’re dealing with? That’s where names start becoming infrastructure.

I’ve spent a lot of time looking at ENS from the other side — the names themselves. And the names I find most interesting aren’t the clever ones. They’re the obvious ones. money.eth fund.eth debt.eth bonds.eth escrow.eth Because if a word already means something in finance, you don’t need to teach the market what it means. You just need the infrastructure to catch up.
