ALT How many of you told your love story to others and got "this is so romantic!" as a response? Followed by the question 'But how does it work ?' The answer is quite complex. You have to face a lot of hardships, lots of problems - it's like riding a roller coaster. Most of the things you're working out while taking the ride. Especially after the honeymoon stage, it's important to really get to know each other in order to take the next step. Disagreements and discussions are included and part of any relationship. But the distance is challenging you on another level. Which stage are you at?

ALT Often couples are under the impression that the worst part is done with closing the distance. But from my own experience, I can share: The big struggles are just coming up. A daily routine is often underestimated. Take me as an example: I moved from Germany to Miami thinking that things will work out just fine. The first 3 weeks after arriving and while waiting for my work permit, I kept myself busy. I started a blog, explored the area and started to work as a volunteer. But: soon my enthusiasm faded away and was replaced with loneliness, homesickness and doubts. I stayed up late and woke up at 1 pm. My motivation was always low, and I just wanted to escape the situation by flying back home. This is something you don't have to struggle with! Keep yourself busy, get out there, make friends and enjoy the path while growing together.
