Retweets most gratefully received. It's getting excruciatingly hard to promote anything, this past year in particular, so please forgive my rampant self-promotion 🤪😔

"The Pawn." by @kevin male #500px 500px.com/photo/1102730939/t… Took this and a few other pictures to calm myself down before a cataract op. Totally wasted worry, I've spent longer in the dentist's chair.

If you haven’t been to Uptown Records in Spalding, Lincs, it’s well worth it. This is just the entrance - there are other areas. Must be the largest second hand record shop in Britain * * I haven’t checked

The last day of Christmas delivery (my 34th) is done. It's a manic time of the year, at times it's stressful, at others it's exhausting but over the years I've never shaken my pleasure at being part of people's Christmas.

I wrote about the legacy of Charlotte Greig, a writer who introduced me to so much music, and made such great music herself, for @guardianmusic. Includes interviews with @jamesyorkston and @JohnelWilliams. theguardian.com/music/2023/a…

‘I had to compose myself when I first heard her’: the astonishing musical versatility of the late...

From rap mixtapes to music journalism and ghostly drum machine-led folk, the late British artist had few boundaries. Her husband and fans remember her tough, inspiring life
