🔎 📖 Resource of the Month - 2025.1
Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness: A Manual for Protecting Archives
What would happen to your archives in the face of disaster?
In the first edition of this year’s Resource of the Month, Moises Rockembach, ICA's Editorial Manager for our Online Resource of the Month initiative, highlights a vital manual by Margaret Crockett and Emilie Gagnet Leumas, published in October 2024.
In his review, Moises draws attention to the increasing importance of disaster preparedness in archival work. From fires and floods to digital threats, the manual offers practical guidance to help institutions plan, respond, and recover.
As the authors remind us: “The disaster plan is, in itself, insurance.”
This resource is a valuable tool for building resilience and ensuring continuity in the face of the unexpected.
