Apple? Apple Music is a pile of shit. Why can I see something I've played a hundred times before and I can't play it now? Why can I then play it after I reboot? Or after I quit the app? Dogshit. I used to work for you. My boss would never have tolerated this. The worst.

Welcome to @reactnative and @expo, where 90% of everything is 'free', except that the 10% that's left is the proverbial 10% that takes 90% of the time.
I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe… SWEs with 15 years’ experience who can’t split a string on spaces. DevOps people who suggest N^3 traversals of large micro-service networks. All these engineers will go work for enterprise shops, lost in IniTech, like tears in rain.

I would just like to tell anyone who cares how much I despise the Git Merge/PR-based workflow (compared to the Trunk-based workflow). I swear some days I spend more time just fighting with the Merge workflow than I do actually doing "real work".

Here, let me restate that: Does anyone know of a guide for people long used to Trunk-based development who are being forced into Merge/PR-based development?

@Postmates @Postmates_Help How did my delivery charge go from ~$5 when I started to ~$16 when it was charged? No way to report this problem in the app. Can't even see the amount because the app has me locked in the tip screen. You're real close to losing a customer here.

Lest there be any question, @Postmates' response was "Unfortunately, we can take no further action. We apologize for the inconvenience." I'm done with them. I hope losing a long-time customer was worth $11! Also, please avail yourself of the difference between "can" and "will."

Decided to try out MyPy 'cause I like static analysis, and also like Python. Unfortunately, I'm finding it takes a lot of the fun out of writing Python. It certainly takes away the brevity and expressiveness. Maybe I should revisit OCaml. :)

I think the real heroes of @NakedAndAfraid are the B-roll shooters who actually go out and get shots of all the dangerous wildlife.

Today was my last day at UberATG. Been an amazing ride. Especially proud of fielding the 1st fleet of SDVs taking paying customers. Taking a break, tending to health, reconnecting with friends, traveling, and figuring out what's next. Hit me up; I'd love to catch up!

How many highly paid tech employees does it take to operate a videoconference system? Spoiler alert: Many.
Did a "gender study workshop" at work today. I love it when we do these things that bring diverse people together from across functions. I'm always amazed at all the great ideas that come out, and it reminds me of how eng is just one small part of something much bigger!

Silent couple next to us at restaurant. Her face says “I wish you were dead”. His face says “I’m thinking about work”.

Anyone else notice that @Google Calendar's new interface has a lot of bugs under Safari? Anyone know how to go back to the old UI?

That overturned call was complete and utter horse shit. #Steelers had that game wrapped up, legit. Robbed by flat-out wrong officiating.

This is the glory of intellectual pessimism: When I think of something, I immediately think, “This has to have been thought of before, and since I just thought of it, anyone who thought of it before has had way more time to do it better…” This leads to less re-invention.

Anyone else notice that using Google Calendar's new interface, in Safari, the "Find a Time" functionality doesn't work? Works fine in Chrome. :(
