Creating net-new gold with alchemy is becoming real. The lab grown diamond industry is growing rapidly.
But you can’t invent anything that will increase Bitcoin supply. There will only ever be 21M.

On earnings, $LIT still trades at ~2x $HYPE multiple tho
Same supply and valuation methodology for both, September earnings annualized, with Lighter’s buybacks used as proxy for its earnings.

No where safe to hide anymore

Hiding your coins in a bunker won't save your blockchain. Given the risks AI poses to fundamental cryptography, I propose every chain implement a "cryptographic recovery mode":

Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists tortured, mutilated, and murdered 1,200 innocent civilians in Israel.
Among those slain were men, women, and children — including dozens of Americans.
We will never forget this act of barbarism against an ally and recommit ourselves to the defense of civilization.

This is one of the WORST recovery plans I have ever seen.
Ostium basically asking holders to gamble on the company’s future. This isn’t it.
you will get 1k back even if you lost millions
They raised 24m under a year ago btw. Criminals.
On July 15th, Ostium was attacked and roughly $23.75M was taken from the vault. OLP holders bore that loss, and for the two months that followed, you heard far too little from us. That was a mistake, and I take responsibility for the silence.
We started Ostium four and a half years ago, right out of college, because we believed Real World Asset perpetuals would be the next killer product to come out of crypto after stablecoins. I believe that as much today as I did then.
We pioneered the category. Before the attack we had the second-highest open interest among RWA perp venues and a strong base of core traders. But we were also spread across too many competing priorities, and had begun working to refocus the protocol.
The attack forced a decision. We could try to restart everything we'd been doing as quickly as possible, or we could use the moment to build a more focused company. We chose the second. That took longer than it should have to communicate, because recovery, resource allocation, and the future of the business all depended on the same question: what company are we building from here?
In trying to have every answer before we spoke, we left you without the information you needed at the moment you needed it most. That made a hard situation worse.
I know there's been a lot of speculation about what we were doing. We went quiet, but we didn’t go anywhere. Since July, the team has been developing the next iteration of our trading stack from the ground up, rebuilding our operational and legal footing, and working through significant setbacks, all while sharpening Ostium into a more focused company.
I know this plan isn't what many of you hoped for, especially those with larger losses. Meaningful recovery can only come from Ostium's growth, and Stage 2 will give affected holders a stake in it.
Thank you to our team, and to everyone who waited for answers you deserved sooner. Our core leadership and senior engineering team remains intact and more committed than ever.
Going forward, we will build in the open. We’ll share technical details early on, and will be more incremental than polished. We won't wait until every answer is in hand.
We took a hard hit, but we're very much still here. Tomorrow, we'll share what we've been building since July and where Ostium goes next.

I was hearing rumours of @Ostium's recovery efforts a couple of weeks back but didn't want to post anything on my TG:
Basically 3 options:
1 - Accept $1K and waive all claims
2 - Delude yourself into thinking you will get anything from a third rate perpdex
3 - LITIGATE
let me explain why this is (likely) the death knell for @Ostium (or any other perpdex that suffers the same)
its a variant of the keynesian beauty contest
setup: perpdexes run on incentives to poach users from other venues through lower fees, rebates, ref deals or simply promise of airdrop at some point (implied APR)
user acq costs are high, users arent so sticky (mercenary really lol), but thats what the VC funding money is for - to entice them
target audience: users are mostly (vol adjusted almost all) farmers, MMs, DN/arbers - they expose themselves to risk (among others, those like the one today) in return for some profits (usually not significant ones) right now and HUGE profits post tge
they run on assumptions such as:
team competency
funding raised (from who and how much, more is not better...these days)
will team airdrop community 10%, 20% , 40%
how long from now til tge
is it early or saturated pts-wise
all of this happens on an individual level btw, reweighed almost weekly if not daily among the savvy participants
then
exploit happens
company needs money to plug hole
most companies dont have this, even if it were a couple million, because they burn money for user acqs, and to offer rebates, vip tiers, competitive fees
so
VCs can pony up cash in exchange for more equity, if they even wanted to
External loans can be taken too (Tether and Drift e.g)
but this is giga bearish for the perpdex and its users
the users see this and go:
"yep instead of 20% to community we are getting 12%, gg"
"yep tge delayed gg"
if your CPM (cost per M usd vol done) so far was for example $500, and you assumed a mill in pts gave you $750 in tokens, well now you are officially underwater on all of your previous vol done
what do you do next - continue burning money? hell no
this means whoever was a loyal user jumps ship
and new person (especially if smaller user) never comes in - because its already Season 4 Week 26 and no TGE plus gigawhales farmed all the points in S1
all momentum is lost - old users turn on you, new users wont touch you because math doesnt work out anymore
the "pluggability" of hole doesnt really matter
theres so many new perpdexes coming out every month you might as well just farm the new one for 2 weeks and hope they dont get exploited
than throwing good money after bad
