Much needed funding for the Indian Media/Film Ecosystem.
HNI and institutional money is entering #India’s ₹22,000-cr film industry. New funds such as Filmoney Global and CineNow are using SPVs and portfolio-based investing models to finance films, as film IP gains traction as an alternative asset class. Read @vanitakohlik’s report 👇 mybs.in/2g7bqDV

Everyone Knew Elizabeth Holmes' Story. It Still Sold Out. A quick note before we start. Last week's Netflix piece got the strongest response anything on The Story Moat has had. The message was clear: you want the insight while the story is still moving, not three weeks later. So I'm going to do more of these — faster. Hence this one. A24’s You Can See Everything is a three-hour documentary about Elizabeth Holmes, a story already told as a book, a podcast, an HBO documentary and a Hulu series. It just opened to $15 million on 855 screens, and 70% of the audience was under 35. Everyone knew the story. They paid for the storyteller. Read here. thestoryink.substack.com/p/e…

Elon is the motherfuckin’ GOAT. He takes things most people only dream about and makes them fucking real. That’s just the damn truth. I went to see a car unveil and watched a Roadster drive upside down, launch with thrusters, and do flips and rolls through the air. How do you watch that and not feel like a kid again?! Tonight was the best product unveil I’ve ever seen, literally the best unveil of ANY product. Hands down. Huge respect to Elon and everyone at Tesla and SpaceX who put in the work to make this happen. You absolutely fucking delivered. I had my @Grok Bot pull the official stream, find the best moments, and cut this video together by the end of the night. I had to watch it again to understand how unbelievable today was.

I’m not. Will use SpaceX cold gas thruster system with ultra high pressure air in a composite over-wrapped pressure vessel in place of the 2 rear seats.

SpaceX moat
A retired NASA engineer who had worked on the Space Shuttle program for 25 years was hired by SpaceX at age 62. He described the first week as the most disorienting experience of his professional life. At NASA, a design change required 3 meetings, 2 committees, a review board, and 6 to 18 months of documentation. At SpaceX, his new supervisor said "if it works, build it. If it doesn't, change it by Friday." He sat at his desk after the first day and called his wife. He told her he felt like a man who had been swimming with ankle weights for 25 years and someone just cut them off. He could move. He could decide. He could build something in the morning and test it in the afternoon. The constraint that he had accepted as the nature of aerospace engineering turned out to be the nature of bureaucracy. Within 6 months he had contributed to more design iterations than he had completed in his last 5 years at NASA. Not because he was working harder. Because the time between having an idea and testing the idea collapsed from months to hours. The same brain. The same knowledge. A different operating system. He described a specific moment where he proposed a modification to a Raptor engine component. At NASA, the proposal would have entered a queue. At SpaceX, the modification was machined by the end of the day and tested by the following morning. He watched his idea become a physical object in 18 hours. At NASA, 18 hours would not have been enough to schedule the first meeting to discuss whether to schedule a meeting. He told an interviewer: "I didn't get smarter when I went to SpaceX. I got faster. The intelligence was always there. The system was in the way." The difference between SpaceX and NASA is not talent. NASA has extraordinary talent. The difference is the time between a thought and a test. SpaceX compresses it. NASA elongates it. The same engineer produces 10x more at SpaceX than at NASA because the bottleneck was never the engineer. It was the meetings about the meetings about the work.

Well, Sam ain’t @elonmusk. And when you get addicted to @bot see what @claudeai gets accomplished You don’t need the most premium subscription to @OpenAI. This is positive news for #Mag7 & @SpaceX
FT report today: OpenAI told investors its annualized revenue is nearing $50B, about $20B below the $70B figure widely reported last month. Gap comes from different accounting vs Anthropic on cloud partner sales. News hit AI stocks amid an already weak market.

What @JensenHuang and @elonmusk Know That the Film Business Doesn't Three companies worth nearly $9 trillion were built by questioning what the product, the cost structure and the customer relationship were supposed to be. Film still rebuilds too much of its business from zero every Friday. #JensenHuang #ElonMusk thestoryink.substack.com/p/w…

1) 2023: Moved to UAE. Saved on taxes. Understood global investing in its truest sense. 2) 2024: I decide to move most of my portfolio to the US. 3) 2025: I decided to bet 10% of my portfolio on Google. Additionally, bought stocks like Nebius, RKLB. 2026: I decided to bet 15% of my portfolio on Meta. 2027 is likely to be a year of "cash". People who can hold it well. Build options strategies. And, know how to play leverage might do much better than the general markets. I might be wrong. And, I will adjust my cash positions as the valuations evolve. But, over time: I am realizing that a few major macro decisions shape most of your wealth. Going deep on your major convictions is 10X better than going broad on general advice when it comes to investing.

From #JaiSantoshiMaa to #HanumanAnsh Fifty-one years apart, both films taught exhibition the same lesson: the absence of opening demand is not always the absence of an audience. Sometimes it is simply the absence of time for a community. In 1975, a film accelerated a faith. In 2026, an already-networked faith accelerated a film. Both times, the industry found out after the audience did. #NeemKaroliBaba thestoryink.substack.com/p/f…

Netflix delivered another strong quarter: rising revenue, a 33.4% operating margin, and a business model that remains exceptionally effective. The stock fell anyway. But I am not worried as a long-term shareholder. The market is no longer asking whether Netflix works. It is asking what compounds next. Click to read more. open.substack.com/pub/thesto…
