Over 150 years ago the child protection system we call “child welfare” was created out of the animal protection system. A risk assessment system that has not changed in its bones for over a century and a half.

This statement from the Sudbury CAS now former Board is why the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services @MichaelParsa who must resign. An independent transparent public inquiry centering on the voices of young people and@ parents must be called.
It is enough!
Completely alarming that the Ministry claims children in care were in harms way. There should be a public inquiry.
Now that a supervisor has been appointed @MichaelParsa should resign

@MichaelParsa the meageer investment into the passport funding program is like whatever. However the disrespect you continue to show support workers that help our community isnt forgotten. Just @PaulCalandra you don't get it. This isn't about numbers this about people.

People really do NOT understand the grave injustice that has been done to so many children with complex needs that have been denied supports. @irwinelman It is bigger than people can understand. Children are all of our responsibility & we are failing them every day.
Today is Child and Youth In Care Day in Ontario.
It is a day of recognition for children who are too often invisible — and too often silenced. A day to say: We see you. You matter.
Read how and why young people forced the Province to create the day.

A really profound article.
That the surviving young boy who was living in the foster home with his brother who was murdered is now back living with his birth mother is telling.

On May 3 2022 4 yr old Naveah was found dead in a dumpster in Toronto.
I call upon @TPSOperations to publicly update the public on the investigation into her death.
We must remember Naveah

This is a really good tool that helps understand what is at stake for children their rights and all of us in the series of referendums that will be held in Alberta this fall.
