Ajay Atul would have done perfect justice to #Ramayana music.
Namit Malhotra missed a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity.

Solid presentation by Jefferies on the evolution of equity taxation in India, alongside a global comparison of capital gains tax and STT.
The data makes it obvious: India’s current tax framework on equities is an outlier. High time this anomaly gets rationalized.

Jio at Rs 1,471 is priced for perfection. I would not chase it here.
1. Up 31.5% from the Rs 1,119 issue price in 2 sessions.
2. Market cap Rs 13,54,648 crore at 10:39 AM, above Bharti Airtel's roughly Rs 12.1 lakh crore.
3. Initiating targets are Rs 1,340 (Nomura) to Rs 1,367. The stock trades 8-10% above all of them.
4. Free float is below 3% (Motilal Oswal). A thin float is driving the squeeze.
5. The next catalyst is a 15% industry-wide tariff hike expected in Nov-Dec 2026 (Nomura).
My view: The listing pop is a float squeeze, not fresh value. Index-inclusion flows and the tariff hike are already known and priced in. I expect Jio to drift back toward Rs 1,350-1,400 before its next leg up. The structural winner is Reliance: its Jio stake is now marked to market, and RIL is the cheaper way to own Jio.
Winners: Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel (tariff hike), and fibre and tower suppliers.
Losers: Late buyers above Rs 1,450, and the large caps that funds trim to make room for Jio.
What I'd do:
- Allottees: book 50% here and trail the rest with a stop at Rs 1,356, the listing-day low.
- Fresh money: no buying above Rs 1,450. Accumulate only near Rs 1,350-1,370.
- For fresh exposure, buy Reliance over Jio at today's prices.
- Bharti Airtel: hold, since the tariff hike helps both.
