Guide to Eid Prayer:
Ruling of Eid:
The Eid prayer is a strongly recommended Sunnah.
Its Timing:
The prayer begins 15–20 minutes after sunrise.
Its Place:
It is recommended to perform the Eid prayer at an open prayer ground (musalla).
Its Recommended Practices (Sunnan):
1. One should take a bath (ghusl)
2. apply perfume,
3. wear their best clothes,
4. arrive early,
5. walk to the prayer ground, and
6. take different routes when going and returning.
Its Number of Rak'ahs:
The prayer consists of two rak'ahs: the first includes seven takbirs (saying "Allahu Akbar"), and the second includes five takbirs.
Recitation:
It is recommended to recite Surah Al-A'la (The Most High) and Surah Al-Ghashiyah (The Overwhelming), or alternatively, Surah Qaf and Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon).
