Bill Simmons on Yaxel Lendeborg
“Yaxel has a chance to be an All-Star. That's how good he's been. And I think he's invigorated them. They didn't even play Curry tonight, and they still won.”
Ramayana being compared to all that is some confidence. Hope they've actually nailed it.

SGA knows there’s no amount of flopping or foul baiting he can do to save the Thunder with all those injuries 😭
Darius Acuff Jr. is going to be an absolute menace. What a start.
Darius Acuff Jr. is doing things the NBA has rarely seen from a rookie 👀
🏀158 pts in 6 career games, tied with Shaq for most by anyone since NBA/ABA merger in 1976-77 🤯
🏀9 made 3s Saturday, most ever by a teenager in a game 😲
🏀5th in NBA history with at least 3 30-pt games in their first 6 career games, 1st since Allen Iverson 💪
Darius Acuff might be quite good at basketball, actually.

The Rolex bonus is properly funny. Imagine trying to explain that one to payroll.
Three hiring posts for the same Creative Strategist seat in 12 hours: long-form native static ads.
One pays $4-6k a month, plus a Rolex if a single ad hits $300k in spend.
One pays $10k+ plus 3% of spend, wants proof of a $100k ad, and is "not looking for someone who is LEARNING."
One wants people who are "hungry to learn" and "coachable," and will train them.
Same seat. Two plans: buy someone proven, or grow one.
Buying proven means racing every other brand for the same people. The ones who already do this well aren't reading job posts.
Pick the plan before you write the post.
Buying: lead with the pay, keep it to three stages, move in days.
Growing: name who trains them and what they have to ship to earn the raise.
36 videos in a month is properly impressive. That chart must feel very satisfying.
I've been posting face-on-camera videos on Instagram and TikTok every day for the last month
The viewer and engagement numbers are solid -- more on that down below -- but the muscle and the momentum are what I'm most proud of
I've been posting lightly analytical videos about different stories in AI
The kind of content that might not be ground-breaking to those of us deep in AI Twitter
But is interesting to AI-curious people on the short form video platforms
I'm doing this for two reasons
First, my skills as a software engineer are being rapidly commoditized. Not useless, but increasingly subordinated to the powers of distribution
Second, I'm preparing to launch a new consumer AI startup, and it is plainly evident that content creation is now a first class citizen of the consumer founder experience
It's time to start building a mainstream audience of people who may be interested in our product. X is important but insufficient
Creating quality content is not easy
I've been spending about 2 hours per video, sometimes more. This is not sustainable. My low effort videos have been sniffed out easily and have underperformed
But I'm getting better at content. I'm writing scripts faster. Sourcing and generating assets faster. My editing skill in Codex is finally pretty good
The follower counts are ok not amazing, but the chart (below) of my rolling 10-video view count average is up and to the right
This is after one month and 36 videos
View counts are much better on Insta than TikTok, though the engagement rates on TT are not bad at all
My experience with the platforms has been relatively smooth
One video on TikTok was removed for a nebulous community guidelines violation
I hid another TikTok video that got a grand total of 1 view -- likely shadowbanned because I discussed a contentious figure in Chinese geopolitics (Neville Roy Singham) lol
Overall, quite happy with the experiment and I'm going to continue posting. There is no other choice. And I'm enjoying it anyway
