SDSC SHAR has floated a tender (SH202600128501, 23 Oct 2026) to manufacture, supply and erect the SC120 Retraction System Mast Structure at the Second Launch Pad, Sriharikota. SC120 is the LOX + ISROSENE semi-cryo stage being developed for the upgraded LVM3. 📐 What's being built • Two ~7.8 m tall steel masts on the Mobile Launch Pedestal (MLP), one on the LOX side and one on the ISROSENE side • ~12 t of fabricated structure in total, mostly S690QL high-strength steel ⚙️ How it works (per drawings) • Each mast holds an Umbilical Coupling Unit (UCU) mated to the vehicle at ~12.8 m elevation • At retraction, a ~543 kg counterweight drops inside the mast and pulls wire ropes over a top pulley, swinging the UCU and hoses clear • Shock absorbers at the base (235 kN, 150 mm stroke) arrest the counterweight 📅 Timeline • Delivery to SHAR within 3 months of PO • Erection on the MLP within 1 month of site clearance • Bids due 12 Nov 2026, price bids open 23 Nov 💡 SC120 pad infrastructure at SLP is now moving into execution. #ISRO #SC120 #LVM3 #Sriharikota #IndianSpace

📢 Update: LPSC Bengaluru has extended the deadline for its Low Temperature Sensor Calibration Facility tender (No. LB 2026000322 01) 📅 Revised schedule: • Bid deadline: 6 Nov 2026, 14:00 (earlier 16 Oct) • Technical bid opening: 6 Nov 2026, 14:05 • Price bid opening: 20 Nov 2026, 14:00 (earlier 4 Nov) All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. #ISRO #LPSC #Cryogenic #Tender #IndianSpaceflight
🚨ISRO's LPSC Bengaluru has floated a tender for a Low Temperature Sensor Calibration Facility LPSC Bengaluru has published a public tender (No. LB202600032201, dated 25 Sept 2026) for a Temperature Calibrator system to set up a Low Temperature Sensor Calibration Facility. 📌Tender Details >Only Class-I and Class-II Local Suppliers (Make in India >Pre-bid meeting: 6 Oct 2026 (online) >Bid deadline: 16 Oct 2026, 14:00 >Price bid opening: 4 Nov 2026 >Custom-built system, delivery within 10 months of design approval, including installation >12 month warranty ❄️Why does LPSC need this? LPSC is home to ISRO's cryogenic and semi-cryogenic engines. The CE-20 engine on LVM3 (and Gaganyaan) runs on liquid hydrogen at around -253°C and liquid oxygen at around -183°C. At these temperatures, accurate readings are critical for: >Engine chilldown before ignition, to avoid turbopump cavitation >Propellant density, which affects mixture ratio and thrust >Tank pressurisation and boil-off management >Engine qualification tests at IPRC Mahendragiri Sensors like platinum RTDs, diodes and thermocouples behave very differently at cryogenic temperatures, so they must be calibrated across the actual range they will work in. 🎯Why in-house? LPSC Bengaluru is ISRO's centre for transducer and sensor development >Faster turnaround and traceable calibration data, critical for Gaganyaan >Supports more LVM3 flights, the semi-cryo stage and future methalox engines >The facility itself will be built by Indian industry Better cryo sensors mean better engine data, and better data means safer rockets.
