It’s the most beautiful time of the year. Karva Chauth tomorrow. Diwali next week. A slight chill in the air, perfect weather, and streets glowing with lights, everything looks beautiful. Yet, somehow, something feels missing. I don’t know if it’s just me or if anyone else feels it too, but this year, the festive joy doesn’t feel the same.

From #SaiPallavi & Ranbir Kapoor’s casting to A.R. Rahman’s music, lyrics, Sai’s blouse & saree, makeup & expressions, everything is being dissected. Criticism is fair, but this relentless negativity is not. Maybe it’s time we embraced an attempt to bring our greatest epic to a new generation. Imagine if Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan had faced this level of nitpicking, would we ever have witnessed the masterpiece?

I felt #mangalrang is Hindustani more than qawwali. In the later there is a group clapping after every line that the lead singer sings. The chorus line in #mangalrang looks like people singing in unison as in a bhajan! Take a chill pill. #ARR knows more music than you and me!!!

This is by far the most stupid take on liking or not liking #SaiPallavi as Sita.
RAMAYANA IS NOT FOR DALITS & ADIVASIS SAI PALLAVI hails from Badaga Adivasi community of Tamil Nadu. Amount of hatred shown by Upper Caste Hindu Indians for casting her for role of Sita because of her "ordinary looks" shows disdain that "mainstream" Hindus have for SCs & STs.

Sheer stupidity to pass judgement on #Rashmika and #Vijays love life based on few minutes of a TV show and equally stupid is them reverting back to their trolls with a 50 page essay.

Unpopular take- I think #SaiPallavi is looking great as Sita Maa. Maa Sita is not any Instagram influencer that she will have perfect face, hairdo. She is beautiful with her imperfections. Sai Pallavi is giving that natural look. And you cannot screenshot the part where her expressions are a little weird just to justify that she isn’t pretty enough. You have to look at the entire video. #Ramayana

So disturbing to watch. And then we have movies like #Soorya where Sunny Deol is seen thrashing Drs. While NMC has so many rules for Doctors, it doesn’t bat an eye on movies promoting such violence and hatred towards Drs.
SHOCKING: Accused Slaps Lady Doctor Inside Police Presence In Wardha Maharashtra, an accused named Qadir Ali slapped Dr. Shraddha Bhumre right inside a primary health center during medical examination. Caught on CCTV this outrageous incident has sparked massive outrage among doctors, who are now demanding strict security and threatening to shut down OPD services

How can anyone who loves India, defend these lines said by #SharjeelImam He said all this long before he was arrested. So no, his bitterness for being jailed has nothing to do with what he feels for India. He hates the fact that India is a Hindu majority country and just wants to see it as an Islamic country in future. His statements reek of Islamist extremism and are in all sense simply Anti National.

Let me bring you to the consequence of them already having said so. I’m not for Hindu Rashtra but Muslims gotta stop saying ‘what if we said it’ you fucking retards what you said already exists😭
Hindus can get away with such statements. Imagine an Indian Muslim saying, "India belongs to Muslims and I want it to become an Islamic state." He'd be arrested and linked to terrorist organisations. Even if the authorities couldn't find any evidence, they'd keep him imprisoned.

Went to a cremation yesterday and just a general observation. Of all the moments after someone’s death, worst is when the dead body is offered flowers just before final departure from home. Post death mind processes the moment, hooks one to inform people around, during rituals one gets entangled in duties told by people or pandit around but its just during final departure from house, all memories irrespective of your relation with that person hits your brain and you realise worth of time, immateriality of achieving everything yet nothing, questioning value of existence. #random

Hindu festivals drive Indian Economy. Everybody earns - From potters to Goldsmiths , fruit sellers to electronic giants , broom makers to textile industry ....the list is endless. Our traditions have made our economy recession-proof in many ways.

No. You do not get to turn your personal anxiety into the condition of 200 million Indian Muslims. As a Muslim, I don’t feel safe is your experience. This is how the victimhood machine works: one person feels afraid, and suddenly an entire community is declared besieged. One ugly incident happens, and India becomes unsafe. One disagreement becomes persecution. One criticism becomes Islamophobia. There are real cases of discrimination. Fight them. But constantly telling Indian Muslims that they are unsafe, unwanted and permanently under siege is not solidarity. It is psychological conditioning. I am Muslim too, and I refuse this script. Indian Muslims are not a frightened herd waiting for television panels, activists and grievance entrepreneurs to tell us how terrified we are supposed to feel. We work here. We vote here. We build businesses here. We serve in the armed forces, bureaucracy, courts, universities, hospitals, media and sport. We disagree with each other politically, religiously and socially because we are not one political organism. Speak for yourself. Your fear is real to you. It is not a census of Indian Muslims.

What a brilliant and I should say ‘Polished’ way of white washing his Islamist ideology and agenda. It’s not that complicated actually, anyone calling for breaking India, geographically or ideologically should be labelled a terrorist. Bring in all the fancy words you want, Truth is simple. But those who want to hide it, want to make it look complicated. #SharjeelImam
An article has been circulating in the print media, written by an IPS officer who goes by the name of Ibn-e-Khaldun Bharti, questioning Sharjeel Imam’s politics by branding him anti-secular, Islamist, reductionist, conservative, and everything else that can be deployed to delegitimise a political subject without seriously engaging with his ideas. One cannot help but wonder why the author chooses to conceal his identity behind a pseudonym. To understand Sharjeel Imam, one must engage with critical theory, political philosophy, metaphysics, and the historical conditions that shape political thought. One cannot reduce his politics to the familiar binaries of secularism and communalism, or expect complex questions of Muslim political identity, representation, and resistance to yield to such convenient categories. It is particularly disappointing that many academics who understand these complexities choose to remain silent, even as public discourse increasingly turns into an exercise in labelling, vilification, and intellectual simplification. Sharjeel Imam’s critique of the Constitution, or his questioning of the political order it sustains, does not automatically amount to a rejection of constitutionalism. The Constitution itself provides for its amendment, while democratic politics must retain the space to question existing institutions, arrangements, and constitutional assumptions. A constitutional democracy that cannot accommodate fundamental criticism of its own framework risks reducing dissent to a privilege granted at the convenience of those in power. His invocation of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Muhammad Iqbal must also be understood within the larger history of Muslim political thought in the subcontinent. They are part of our pre-Partition intellectual and political history, however uncomfortable that history may be. We cannot simply erase them from our historical consciousness because their ideas, political choices, or legacies are contested. To invoke Jinnah is not necessarily to endorse Jinnah, just as engaging with a political thinker does not amount to an uncritical acceptance of everything they believed or represented. History cannot be understood through selective remembrance, nor can political thought be evaluated through guilt by association. The task is to interrogate, contextualise, and critically engage with these legacies, not to banish them from legitimate discourse. The easiest thing for political polemicists to do is to call Sharjeel Imam an Islamist, reduce his arguments to a convenient ideological label, and present that label as sufficient justification for his political and social exclusion. In a climate where such labels can have consequences far beyond intellectual debate, this is a particularly dangerous exercise. Defending Sharjeel Imam does not require agreeing with every argument he has made. It requires defending the right to engage with his ideas seriously, to examine them critically, and to resist the impulse to replace argument with accusation. The question is whether we are willing to confront the complexity of Muslim political thought in India, or whether we would rather consign it to a set of labels that make it easier to condemn than to understand. #SharjeelImam
