Trying to stay as transparent as possible: this week was rough.
Went from a 10-day green streak to a hard reset. My 50k funded account went from 1 day away from a $1k payout to just $37 in profit, and I breached 2 of my 50k LucidFlex evals.
It started with a miscalculation on Tuesday, losing $562 instead of my intended $300. Since then I've been taking bad setups and oversizing risk. Wednesday was breakeven, today was a $611 loss.
Hoping I can still save this account and get my second payout from it, then keep scaling from there. It hurts, but we're not giving up. At least the first payout from this account already covered the 2 blown evals.
Trading prop firms in Germany is kinda frustrating, especially futures prop firms.
First, you can withdraw only 50% of your profits. Then, from that 50%, the prop firm takes another 10%.
Let's say you receive $10,000 in payouts in a month. After converting it to roughly €8,700, you still have to pay health and long-term care insurance, trade tax, income tax, and the solidarity surcharge. In this example, those add up to roughly 43%, leaving you with only about €5,000.
I'm still grateful for the opportunity prop firms provide, and I know it's still way better than a regular job. You can absolutely become wealthy trading.
But I completely understand every trader or entrepreneur who decides to move to a country with lower taxes. Sometimes it genuinely feels like you're being punished for succeeding.
