I am going to cure aging. And if someone else cures it sooner than me, that’s even better.

It’s an accurate way to live, because this view of living will become true in the next few decades. Adopting this way of living is like being a early-adopter.
Life advice from Peter Thiel: “People say you should live every day as if it’s your last.” “I think you should live every day as if it will go on forever.” “Treat people like you’re going to see them again in the future. Start working on projects that may take a long time.”

AI and biotech are exponentially accelerating. The goal isn't only to live longer. It's to stay healthy enough to benefit when the breakthroughs arrive. Healthspan comes first.
If you look closely enough, breakthroughs in everything are accelerating exponentially. An exponential always starts off looking small.

I’m in the process of building something to keep you alive long enough until aging is cured. The inital goal is to still exist, in a healthy body, when aging gets cured. That's why I don't just want to build health trackers. Trackers show you what already happened. I want to build a platform that turns your biology into an action plan, so you stay healthy for longer. There's a point futurists call LEV, when medicine adds more than a year to your life expectancy for every year you age. Reach it, and your life expectancy stops shrinking. Part of my mission is to help you stay healthy long enough to reach it.

I said that I'd cure aging. Here's the action plan: Foundations: Sova, my sleep regularity app, out now. Measurement: I'm exploring how to track how you're aging in a way that is actionable, useful, and proactive. Discovery: Biotech, in the background. I’m working on all three in parallel.

Exclusive: Ray Kurzweil has spent decades predicting that AI could help humans overcome death. Now he’s working with a startup to create a digital version of himself, raising questions about consciousness, identity and what it means to live on through technology. Full story: thein.fo/4z47nKx

The most rewarding use of your time is investing it in activities that extend your lifespan. Doing so proactively secures your presence in the years to come. And in doing so, you will be alive to achieve a state wherein AI and medical advances extend your remaining lifespan expectancy by more than one year, each year that passes. This would mean that your remaining lifespan increases faster than time moves. This is called LEV and most futurists estimate that humanity could reach this milestone in the years 2029-2039. The best time spent is on time-extenders.

BREAKING: For the first time, a therapy designed to reverse the age of cells has been tested in humans. 2 of the first 3 patients improved on their vision tests.

I'm considering building a biological age tracker. It would estimate your biological age, show how it changes over time, and suggest what to work on. If you'd actually use it, reply with how you track your health today. If you wouldn't, tell me why.

I'm deciding what to build next. Do you track your biological age? Reply "early" if you'd use a biological age tracker and want me to tell you if I build it.

Choose your hard. 1. Be fit, eat healthy, sleep well 2. Be obese, eat processed food, sleep poorly One grants you a higher chance at an extended lifetime. The other grants you an early death.

Everyone tries to sleep more. But in a 60,000-person study: regularity predicted early death better than total sleep duration. And almost nobody keeps a regular schedule. That's the problem I built Sova to solve.
Hours of sleep isn’t the whole story. Sleep regularity is the part most people skip. Regularity means following your sleep schedule, going to bed and waking up at the same times each day. Introducing Sova: a sleep tracker built around regularity. If you sleep 7-9 hours and still wake up feeling off, your sleep schedule is the place to look. Start tonight: trysova.app

Certainly. Optimization and enjoyment can coexist, but it’s a fine line to tread.
Don’t optimize your health to the point you don’t even enjoy the life you are trying to extend

Scientists in Japan have figured out how to make cancer cells end themselves. They forced cancer cells to poison themselves by creating a toxin that reacts with carbon monoxide, causing the toxin to only affect cancer cells. Normal cells were unharmed in lab tests.
