I wish more people understood that disability is universal. You will experience disability at some point in your life, whether from accident, illness, old age, or even temporary disability. Please advocate for accessibility because it literally benefits everyone.

Gaza is under random gunfire right now. We don’t understand what is happening here. Gunfire is literally everywhere. Tanks and military bulldozers are firing randomly at tents and homes, while aircraft are flying extremely low, making terrifying sounds that are impossible to describe. Don’t stop talking about Gaza. Don’t let the world become numb to what is happening here.

One of the best documentaries I have watched in my life. It takes us into the life of the indefatigable @MaramGaza who's been relentlessly reporting from Gaza for 3 years. Digital correspondents in Gaza are forgotten, marginalised, and barely read or praised & awarded on the global stage. youtube.com/watch?v=6p5BQVZp…

The Guardian has published an open letter to Iran’s political prisoners, signed by Angela Davis, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Rashid Khalidi, Robin DG Kelley, Ruth Wilson Gilmore, Judith Butler, Walden Bello, among others. These are not people to be dismissed lightly. Several have given their lives to the anti-imperialist and Black liberation movements, and one of them is writing from inside a US prison. I take no pleasure in disagreeing with them. But the letter is wrong, and plays an objectively harmful role. Its central image is the “two blades of a scissors”: the Islamic Republic on one side, US and Israeli imperialism on the other, with the Iranian people crushed between them. It inserts a symmetry between the world’s major imperialist power and an anti-imperialist state that has never invaded another country, and which has stood consistently with the oppressed from Palestine to South Africa to Venezuela. The load-bearing phrase is this: “we reject the false binary of imperialism and hollow anti-imperialism.” Exactly how “hollow” is Tehran’s anti-imperialism? 😵‍💫 For four decades, while almost every Arab government made its accommodation with Washington and Tel Aviv, Iran armed, funded and sustained the Palestinian resistance. It refused normalisation when the Abraham Accords put enormous inducements on the table. It has absorbed forty years of sanctions, assassinations of scientists, sabotaged infrastructure, and now an open war of aggression, rather than abandon that position. The states that normalised are not being bombed. Hollow anti-imperialism is a communiqué and a hashtag. Iran’s anti-imperialism has been measured in the blood of 168 Minab schoolgirls, in the bombing of its hospitals and oil depots. One can vehemently disagree with aspects of Iran’s domestic politics, but the question at hand is: where do we stand in the global struggle against imperialism? What side of the barricade are we on? Do we support a criminal war of aggression waged by the US and Israel, or we we support the resistance to that war? Do we support genocide in Gaza, or do we support the country that has been the Palestinian resistance’s most consistent ally for decades? This letter dissolves the distinction entirely. It asks us to refuse the choice. But in a war of aggression there is no third position available, because only one party benefits from your neutrality – and it’s not the party being bombed. The letter appears in a British newspaper, six months into a US-Israeli war, at the precise moment when Washington cannot win militarily and needs the political terrain softened. It recycles a familiar vocabulary – sham trials, systematic torture, the targeting of minorities – without sourcing, in the genre that has preceded and accompanied every single regime-change war. Whatever the signatories intended, that is the function it will serve: making the moral case for war. Angela Davis was imprisoned by a state that told the world she was a terrorist. Mumia Abu-Jamal is imprisoned by that state today. These are people who know exactly what happens when an empire manufactures the moral case for crushing its enemies. They would not have signed, half a century ago, a letter denouncing both blades of the scissors – COINTELPRO on one side and the Black Panther Party on the other. Progressive and anti-war forces have a duty to support Iran against war, sanctions, regime change plots and destabilisation.

💢 The Resistance Calls Israel’s Bluff Dr. Sami Al-Arian tells Jeremy Scahill that Palestinian factions accepted a deeply contentious weapons decommissioning roadmap to put Israel, the Trump-led Board of Peace, regional mediators, and the broader international community on the spot. “It was a bitter pill to swallow,” he said, but Gaza’s resistance was under immense pressure as Israel continued daily attacks and refused to allow the entry of aid and relief promised under the ceasefire. The “resistance decided to call their bluff,” Al-Arian says, because the deal, if enforced, would halt attacks, end Israel’s permanent presence in Gaza, and end the threat of expulsion. The decisive principle of the offer was reciprocity: weapons would be relinquished gradually if Israel withdrew and guarantors enforced the deal. Israel’s rejection of the deal came within 24 hours. @jeremyscahill | @SamiAlArian

Sky News reports that a 28-year-old Palestinian woman, six months pregnant and suffering severe internal bleeding, was being transported from Qaryout in the occupied West Bank to Rafidia Surgical Hospital in Nablus when Israeli soldiers stopped her ambulance at the Awarta checkpoint. Video shows Israeli forces detained the ambulance crew for more than 30 minutes, subjected the bleeding, critically ill woman to a physical search, and ordered the driver to turn off the engine, cutting power to the vehicle’s onboard medical equipment. During the forced delay, a nurse was forced to deliver the fetus stillborn inside the stranded ambulance. The woman was eventually allowed to proceed to the hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery and saved her life. The baby could not be saved.

This post is filled with lies about what Hamas agreed to & it’s part of a longstanding pattern: When Palestinian negotiators make agreements, the Israelis then demand new terms and the US and its lackeys pretend like these new edicts are part of the deal and then blame Hamas.
As part of the process of decommissioning weapons in Gaza and enabling the transition to civilian governance, and creating a safer future in the region for both Israelis and Palestinians in Gaza, a meeting was held earlier today (Monday) between High Representative Nickolay Mladenov, together with the Board of Peace team, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his team. The meeting was constructive and detailed. Israel and the Board of Peace share a common understanding of the ultimate objectives. The goal is clear and is not in question: the complete decommissioning of weapons in the Strip and the transition away from rule by the gun to civilian governance. Reaching it will be a process. And that process will be set out in the next phase of the work. Contrary to inaccurate reports, we note that the withdrawal of the IDF beyond the Yellow Line will take place only once decommissioning is complete, as Hamas committed to the mediators. This applies to light weapons, heavy weapons, and the tunnels alike. Implementation will be overseen by the International Stabilisation Force and by the Implementation Verification Committee, on which both the United States and the Board of Peace sit. Continued progress towards implementation in full depends on each side fulfilling its obligations under the agreed framework.

🚨 Palestinian man Sheikh Farouk Ramadan, whom Israel labeled a “terrorist” after he defended himself during a confrontation with armed settlers in the occupied West Bank village of Tel on Friday, was shot dead while unarmed, an analysis of four videos by +972 Magazine and Local Call found. The footage undercuts the army’s claim that it “neutralized the terrorist who carried out the shooting attack,” as previously shared in a post by @ireallyhateyou account on X (see reply). Reconstructing the incident from the footage, the outlets lay out the following sequence: 🔸 Armed settlers from the nearby Havat Gilad outpost entered the Palestinian village, and one struck Ramadan with his rifle. Residents came out to repel them and a scuffle broke out. 🔸 Ramadan wrestled that rifle away and fired it during the melee. This is the moment Israel calls a “terror attack,” but the weapon was a settler’s, seized on the spot. 🔸 He was then filmed walking slowly toward soldiers, unarmed, with nothing in either hand, before dropping to the ground. He was shot dead there, possibly by a settler, minutes after the gun had left his hands. The outlets note the army only located the weapon in a search after the incident, confirming Ramadan was not holding it when he was killed. Two Israelis and four Palestinians, including three of Ramadan’s relatives, were killed; Israeli media have reported the dead soldier (the second Israeli) was likely killed by friendly fire.

⭕️ 🇵🇸 A few more Tuesday Israeli attacks and updates from across Gaza, per Felesteen and Al Jazeera: 🔸 Four Palestinians were wounded by Israeli fire in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis in the south. 🔸 Israeli artillery shelled southern Khan Younis and eastern Gaza City before dawn, alongside strikes on the Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City. 🔸 The strike that destroyed the Dar Al-Muttaqin Mosque in Gaza City also leveled tents sheltering displaced people beside it, leaving hundreds homeless. 🔸The toll from the earlier strike on Al-Balata market in Nuseirat has also risen, with Al Jazeera now reporting at least 20 wounded in that attack alone.
Israel has launched fresh attacks across Gaza, killing at least one person and injuring 22 others. A mosque was destroyed in Gaza City after forced evacuations, while strikes also hit the Nuseirat refugee camp. Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum joins live.

There's a huge myth that a ton of people are faking sickness for some social/financial benefit, but the reality is that most disabled/chronically ill people are actually pretending to be less disabled than they really are because that's what society wants.

Gaza is NOT a mere foreign policy issue in the US; it's the ultimate revealer of dark money, external election interference, & the basic credibility, genuineness & honesty of candidates. It's a significant indicator of whether a candidate is bought, blackmailed or not!
Someone with courage and credibility in the Democratic Party needs to stand up and forcefully say that “Gaza” - a complex and painful problem - is NOT the defining issue for the next or any election. People will have differing views but the future of Netanyahu and the West Bank is in the hands of Israeli’s. Not Americans (regardless of our military support). Not understanding that in the U.S. means you’ve lost the plot for our party.
