The way people underrate Tems needs to be studied, and I can’t help but feel gender plays a huge role. Imagine if Tems were a man with the same achievements she’s amassed in just a few years. The noise would be deafening. Every milestone would be used to crown him one of the greatest. Just look at how Davido is celebrated. Tems has built a global career, earned major recognition, and proved her musical ability on the world stage, yet people still hesitate to give her the same level of respect. Personally, I rate Tems above Davido musically, and I genuinely believe she could sell out the O2 multiple times if she chose to. The problem isn’t that Tems hasn’t achieved enough.
