We have all watched the way that Donald Trump deals with hecklers at his rallies. Watch how a President with class and dignity deals with them. "... these guys don't need to go"

“Stop being so political.” Babe, I would LOVE to go back to painting flowers and talking to the moon, but apparently basic human rights are still up for debate.

Luck is a mathematical equation. You increase your odds by putting yourself in places where rare opportunities can find you, by repeating high-upside actions long enough for variance to work in your favour, by building skills that make you useful when the door opens, by staying healthy enough to keep playing, and by taking enough intelligent risks that one of them eventually compounds.

The fact that we still have nuclear weapons tells me people don’t understand them. When I was at Uni, we studied descriptions from survivors of the atomic blasts at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I thought it would be like learning about any other harrowing history. I was very wrong. It disturbed me in my bones and never left me. When the atomic bombs detonated in Japan, some of these survivors literally thought it was an alien invasion. This was because the flash was so blinding bright and silent, they had never imagined anything like it before. There was also no noise for those close to the blast. The shockwave hit their ears at the same time as the sound, sending them flying and shattering everything in its wake. This became known as the Pika-Don. For those further away from the detonation, the sound following the flash was deafening beyond description. It was described as an impossible crack, as if the sky had snapped open. This was trailed by a terrifying deep roar that screamed outwards. It was considered one of the loudest events in human history. Then there was the thermal heat wave. It was so hot it vaporised people in the open instantly and other peoples clothes melted into their skin. Many were burned beyond belief and just stood there screaming or silent, as the sky turned black from the dust, ash and debris. Wild firestorms spread throughout the city, as people searched in darkness for their families and friends. But the worst was yet to come. Those that died in the blast were the lucky ones. Over the coming days and weeks, people’s hair fell out. Without explanation those that had incredibly survived, started to confusingly fall ill and perish over time. I don’t want to describe the side effects of the radiation sickness, but it made me cry reading about it. The hopelessness, suffering and courage of the people that succumbed to this, should be mandatory reading for everyone, to understand the true power of nuclear weapons. “I know not with what weapons World War Three will be fought, but World War Four will be fought with sticks and stones” - Albert Einstein

President Kagame when US removed Rwanda from AGOA. This is leadership!
The US to exclude Rwanda from AGOA once again. In 2018, the US suspended Rwanda’s preferential trade benefits under AGOA. Why? Because Rwanda stood up for its local textile industry and challenged the importation of second-hand clothes from the US. Rwanda called on fellow East African countries to reduce their reliance on imported second-hand clothing and focus instead on building local manufacturing capacity, creating jobs, and strengthening domestic industries. The US opposed this policy and pressured Rwanda to reverse its position. While other EAC countries bowed to US pressure, Rwanda maintained its stance, arguing that Africa needed to build its own industrial capacity rather than remain dependent on imported used clothing. The consequence was the suspension of Rwanda’s AGOA benefits in 2018. Now, years later, Washington is once again moving toward excluding Rwanda, alongside South Africa, from AGOA. My question: Is AGOA being used purely as a trade development programme, or is access to it increasingly influenced by political and diplomatic considerations?

I became Uganda's first wildlife veterinarian in 1996, there were only about 650 mountain gorillas left in the world. Today, there are over 1,063. We are proud to have contributed to this positive growth trend though our #OneHealth approach to conservation. One of my first cases as the first Veterinary Officer of @ugwildlife was a scabies outbreak in the mountain gorillas. I learned that we cannot protect gorillas without caring for the people who live next to them. Through @CTPHuganda we started to Improve health care for families around Bwindi, so diseases like scabies don't pass from people to gorillas. We train Village Health and Conservation Teams and Gorilla Guardians to monitor both human and gorilla health. We also help communities find livelihoods like Gorilla Conservation Coffee, so the forest becomes a benefit, not a burden. When communities are healthy, gorillas are healthy. That is One Health. I am humbled to be named a Top 5 @CNN Hero for this work. The winner is decided by your vote. Please vote at: CNN.com/Heroes 10 votes every day until November 29th. Thank you for protecting the mountain gorillas and supporting the local communities with us. #CNNHeroes #WalkingWithGorillas #OneHealth #CTPH #Bwindi
