"How To Think."
Thinking well is not for the faint-hearted. If you do it properly you will often come to conclusions you hate: reality is rarely as we would have it be: this is not the best of all possible worlds. You must be brave and willing to endure discomfort to think well.

The naysayers are getting embarrassing. Every day, people are using AI to make incredible breakthroughs and answer some of the toughest questions around, like "what do I like about my child?"
Me1 was immersive in a way that the sequels weren't. For example you board your ship and it doesn't take off from the planet until you tell it to, while in ME2 and 3 it's a loading screen and you're in space.

My favorite aspect of Mass Effect 1 that the sequels don't capture is the vast and lonesome splendor of the games' setting. In ME1 you fly to the furthest reaches of space and drive for miles across magnificent empty worlds that might never be traveled upon again. It's beautiful.

I worked for Meals on Wheels. It didn't pay much at all but it was the most rewarding job I ever had. I also felt more appreciated by my coworkers & boss than any other job I've had. It isn't just the food, it's socialization, people being checked on etc. We really helped ppl.
China now has 82,000 senior canteens serving over 4 million elderly people every day!
Fresh, balanced meals average about 2 dollars, with extra help for those who need it!
They sit inside neighborhoods so seniors can eat together, or get delivery when they cannot leave home!
This is what happens when a country invests in caring for its people!

Airbnbs became an insane nuisance in my neighborhood and honestly, I don’t care about it “becoming harder” for people to do.
There’s two @Airbnb in front of our house. Yesterday I finally got my husband to go to bed at a decent time but the group of men staying in those Airbnbs this weekend were obnoxiously loud all freaking night and are being obnoxiously loud this morning.
Airbnb destroyed quiet neighborhoods when it try to become a hotel competitor and people were allowed to list full empty houses without a host living in them.
The amount of parties that have kept us up, insane guests that have literally threatened our pets, drunk idiots being loud all day and night, and Airbnb’s complete lack of care over it deserves for all of it to go out of business completely.
Good hosts who actually know hospitality will figure out a way. The rest will free up a house for a family and sanity will return.
YOU CANNOT CHANGE MY MIND.
we absolutely should in fact genetically engineer bioluminescent plants & trees and then completely eradicate the affront to God that is LED street lights from the face of the Earth

Trying to wrap my mind around how absolutely heinous this order must have been for the **head of the IDF** to not be able to stomach going through with it.

Lula's impending victory is one of the biggest electoral shocks of recent times, but it will mean nothing if his 4th term is anything like his 3rd. Anything short of total, and unapologetic divergence from American FP in L America & the Caribbean will signal failure. Again.

Lula when he was the leader of the Brazilian metalworkers union! Brazil at the time was a military dictatorship.

I go to a lot of cons, and I used to stay in AirBnBs all the time!
A few years ago, I stopped completely, though. The price for an AirBnB became the same (or more than) staying at a hotel, AND every AirBnB required a list of chores to do before you left or they’d slap you with extra fee (they already charged a fee for cleaning, mind you).
Now I just stay in hotels, where the room is cleaned for me on the daily, and I can leave without stressing about chores, like God intended.
its just bonkers the new policy @airbnb is trying to put in place. Putting the dishes in the dishwasher, taking out the trash, pulling the sheets off the bed....they are just standard things any normal person would do when staying at a house. Why wouldn't a host be allowed to say that?
