Revolut founder Nik Storonsky says working weekends is essential to survive, calling it "purely statistical" "So China is 996. And then even if you are good in Europe or even if you are good in US, how can you outcompete people who work nine to nine, 6 days a week?" "When I started in the startup space, there were 140 companies. Within five years, only three companies survived. They all worked on weekends." "Within 10 years, only 2 companies survived out of 140. So I think work on weekends is a must if you want to survive. Purely statistical." "Out of all European companies, we're probably one of the hardest working, and I think we're also one of the hardest working companies if you include US as well."
Nik Storonsky is one of the most hardcore and competitive founders I’ve ever talked to. He’s the founder of Revolut, a $115 billion company, and wants to be the number one bank in 100 countries. When someone asked Nik if he was coming for Jamie Dimon's lunch, he said “I’m coming for his dinner.” “We want to dominate, otherwise what’s the point?” He removed every VC from his board, and when one investor pushed him too far, he started his own fund to compete with them. Nik has a lot of ideas on talent, product design, marketing, constraints, and what makes founder-led companies special. This is a fascinating conversation about competition, speed, and building a machine-like company. 0:00 Coming for Jamie Dimon's dinner 2:04 Building the #1 bank in 100 countries 6:12 Why founders beat professional CEOs 8:45 Revolut's biggest mistake 12:47 Why legacy banks can't innovate 17:20 Running a company like a machine 20:28 Funding winners and cutting losers like a trader 23:31 How AI is changing Revolut's team structure 25:23 50 direct reports and spreading innovation fast 29:59 Hiring self-guided missiles 33:31 Too much money makes founders weaker 37:38 What Europe's constraints taught Revolut 41:08 Why VCs are like football cheerleaders 49:28 Starting a fund to compete with VCs 54:28 From zero marketing to buying Europe's airports 1:00:21 Funding moonshots like a global tech company 1:03:58 Building an unstoppable machine Includes paid partnerships.

Optimizing CPA campaigns for the right event is crucial, so most mobile app publishers optimize for either trial start or subscription start. The problem is that trial -> paid conversion averages 25% (our State of In-App Subscriptions data). So the ad network learns on an unqualified event. We added trial_active and subscription_active events with delayed send, so your ad account learns on people who actually pay. @ereniroh you gonna like it

You can now import Figma frames into Adapty. Select your frames, hit export, and the flow opens as a draft with layout, text, images, button navigation, and quiz options in place. Link your products and publish without an app release.

🤯 adapty did the unthinkable 🤯 you don't even need to vibe code/prompt your app onboarding/paywall anymore you can design your app onboarding + paywall in figma... then you import them in the adapty remote flow builder and boom💥 ... you have now... without even prompting anything.. your remote onboarding and paywall imported and ready to be used in your app ob/paywall generated in whatever programming language you want among: swift, android, react native, flutter, unity, javascript

There's one screen between "Cancel Subscription" and actually cancelling on iOS. Most apps put nothing there. The ones that get it right keep a real share of people already halfway out the door. Yurii, our General Manager, is covering it Sept 18: go.adapty.io/7hm4jx

One of the most amazing moments for me in OpenAI history was watching this happen over the past week:
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics. The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra. The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

Wow! When I was studying physics and computational math, we were modeling liquids flows. Pretty wild what AI can do. It used to be that computers only do computational calculations and you still need scientists to make analytical solution
