Week 538. Our country generates thousands of metric ton of mismanaged plastic waste. Unclean contaminated plastic makes recycling impossible. Collection of clean uncontaminated plastic improves the waste recycling stream. The recycling rates in our country is abysmal. Training of communities to improve the collection system is vital to improve waste management system. This week our work in areas where there is no waste management system. Last month 5 MT (1.3 million pieces) brought into the recycling stream by training communities. Our bit - training and collection of waste at community level.

Week 537. Floating garbage in the ocean harms the health of the ocean . One of the way to protect the ocean - is to clean the floating debris before it forms garbage island . In Last 5 years we have plucked out 12.8 million kgs of Marine debris from the oceans of mumbai . Some of them recyled . Our bit .

Week 531 . Our next 3 days in taluka Maval , Dist Pune - on plastic pollution , circular economy , legacy waste and sustainability . Young indians rising to the challenge - a 17 year old Fahad , a 16 year old Harshad and a 23 year old sachin - planning for 3 days work in the villages. One village at a time . This is what happens when love for the planet and our beloved India enters our veins and arteries . 30 volunteers will work for 3 days in 26 village - to build a sustainable India .
