If one day I ever have children, I think I want to give them an allowance when they’re old enough to do chores. This way I can teach them resource management.
They can either get the cool thing now or reinvest that cash into something that might get them more cool things later.
As a kid, I used to think adults were people who had super serious “grown-up” issues all the time. Now I realize that a majority of us are just stupid and we generally don’t want children repeating our ideas. A “Let them get their own ideas,” sort of thing.
Just reposts today. Tired af. I thought this was funny. I can relate to the degree of frustration this expresses.
Tbh, I see the point. I mean I don’t really see an issue with learning a different language or admiring anthropological aspects for what it is, but as a guy who has been burned by both sides of the political spectrum, I see the point.
Fun fact: Flat Earth likes to use concepts from Galilean and Newtonian physics when it suits the narrative, yet completely ignores whatever doesn’t. I.e. Newton’s first law of motion
I really want to see a movie where Snoopy from Peanuts breaks character and suddenly gains the ability to talk. Still a G-rated film, but Snoopy is literally voiced by Snoop Dogg.
This kind of thing makes me think the people who frequently post about “IQ” don’t even know what an IQ test actually does. It tests pattern matching and your ability to draw conclusions from what evidence is available. This is a video of a plane crash. That’s what’s available.
Question for those who are religious; is it possible to sin in heaven? I’m not asking whether it’s allowed, I’m asking if it’s possible. I’m asking because if there is a way to sin in heaven, do you go to hell? If so, given an eternity of probability, is it just a matter of time?
I can’t tell what I’m afraid of more; having too much time, or too little of it.
On the one hand, too much time means I get to watch everything around me die.
On the other hand, there is a degree of uncertainty about what lies beyond my own death. Both are terrifying.
If I lived long enough, there’s even a chance that I would forget everyone I ever knew in the first place. My parents, loved ones, my family. Immortality would be a curse.
