For my #BigDataBowl submission, I looked at punt returns and quantified expected field position in order to better isolate the decision-making and contributions of a returner. Link: kaggle.com/jacklichtenstein/…

There’s no way it’s smart to kick a FG on 1st&10 down by 10pts with <2 min and then go for the TD after the onside At least take a few shots at the EZ

Is a 3yd pass that takes a 3&10 to a 3&7 in H2 worth a challenge? I’d think not

Timeout mistake by the Falcons! CHI picked up a new 1st down and ATL called their final timeout at 2:42. That means Bears can run a play and let clock hit 2:00 ahead of 2nd down. If Falcons hadn't called timeout, 2nd down also would have been at 2:00, but they would have a TO!

I got -10000 Al Michaels and Herbstreit don’t mention the 4th&inches punt decision by the Broncos because they needed to trust the defense

Giants kicked that FG with 8 on the play clock instead of draining it all the way down and using a TO is embarrassing

I think maybe some of worst game management by Aaron Glenn I’ve ever seen

An example of someone who played in the league and still doesn’t know ball
Markings of the best teams in NFL going into 2026: (wasn’t the case in 2020-2024) 1) Dominant defensive line 2) Ability and willingness to run the football 25+ times a game 3) Explosive pass game off PAP 4) QB has to excel throwing the ball downfield in chunks 5) Position versatility on offense AND defense If you don’t have them, you wont contend.

35/36 draft "reaches" since '16 were R1 or R2 picks and the last one was a R3 pick. Steals similar to Jermod McCoy this year who drop 80+ slots to day 3 are disproportionately likely to have medical issues that the public does not have access to, so I limited this chart to R1/2

The top 10 of the ‘27 draft has a chance to be an insane list of prospects and I can’t wait to hear how the class is bad come next season!

I think I'd have taken all of those players as first position off the board in this year's class! Plus Trevor Goosby probably OT1 in this class too

The Colts and Panthers top the 2026 NFL Consensus Big Board draft rankings. John Harbaugh bringing a little bit of the Ravens with him to the Giants. The 49ers always seem to be at or near the bottom of these...
