A blast from the past. We visited Inishbofin - one of Irelandβs most westerly islands - to see our old ferry!
The MV Raasay was built originally for our island in 1976, but has been out here serving Inishbofin since 2018. My dad, who worked on her for years, got a chance to reminisce!

Canβt quite believe this. The kids at the island primary school were doing a beach clean and found a message in a bottle. From me. From 25 years ago!!

My dear old seanair would have been 97 today. Born on Fladda, a tidal island just off Raasay, he grew up in a world simply unrecognisable to us today.
A remarkable man, he built the home weβre raising our wee baby in until ours is ready. A portrait I got of him a few years ago.

My latest video is the longest video I've ever made - and one of the most complex!
It's about one of the most tragic and unusual arctic expeditions - an attempt to reach the North Pole by means of hydrogen balloon. It was a disaster.π β at Inverarish, Scotland

After 42 odd years, the old man @jagraas finally hangs up the keys to Calmac ferries π«‘
If youβve ever travelled on one of the big calmac boats these last few decades, thereβs a fair chance he was skipper! β΄οΈ

Frozen Raasay, where mugs of tea and a big roaring fire is an absolute necessity.

After many years, the journey is finally complete! We drove the length of the Alaskan highway to find the final overland train: the LCC-1 Snow train!

New video! This has been YEARS in the making... a deep dive into some the largest, most Mad Max vehicles ever made. The crazy 1930s desert buses of the Nairn Transport Company.
Like all my videos, it's about a weird vehicle has a toilet & kitchen.

Happy Easter Sunday - here's a new video! My deep dive under the ground into Britain's amazing Cold War network of Nuclear Monitoring Bunkers.
This has been a long time in the making so I'm glad to finally have it out! youtube.com/watch?v=50aJla1Iβ¦

This might be one of my most niche videos yet!
In the 1960s, the Australian Antarctic Service imported a series of stock VW Beetles for use on their bases in freezing Antarctica. I dived into their history... and where they ended up!
