Care to walk this one back, @RepPeteStauber ? You can vote to end this pointless trade war.

(2/2) I support the President’s efforts to level the playing field, bring jobs and manufacturing back to America, and rebuild the broken economy that Biden left behind. I know American workers, farmers, manufacturers, and miners can compete with anyone in the world as long as there is a fair and level playing field.

“Our schools need help, there’s no denying that. Stripping more funding from our already depleted public schools to give students a worse education so that the rich can get richer cannot be the answer.” buff.ly/nl77mtM

📢 Today, we released our latest report, which reveals how vouchers to pay for private and religious schools would drain public schools of millions of $$, exacerbate inequality, and weaken education across the state. 🧵⬇️

It’s encouraging that lawmakers are taking fraud seriously this session, but they seem to be missing one of the biggest heists happening right under their noses. Payroll fraud and worker misclassification are a massive crime and the scale of the response has been minuscule.
There’s lots of focus on fraud in the Minnesota legislature. But we couldn’t help but notice there’s a multi billion dollar fraud that’s not getting anywhere near the same attention. #mnleg

Today our research was the centerpiece of an important conversation about AI's impact on Minnesota's workers at the Minnesota Senate Labor Committee. AI adoption is moving faster than our public policies, and workers are already feeling the effects. northstarpolicy.org/progress…

REPORT: 500,000 Minnesota workers—17% of the workforce—are at high risk of having their job altered by AI, with roles in agriculture and software development among those most impacted. aflcio.mn/4jdcd14 #BetterInAUnion (via @NSPolicyAction)

Since the 1980s, we've seen productivity grow while wages have stagnated. AI has the potential to add jet fuel to this fire, lining the pockets of the wealthy and leaving workers behind. Policymakers should ensure workers have a voice in how AI is implemented in their workplaces.

AI's impact on workers may well be the defining labor question of our generation. I'm very excited that @NSPolicyAction is thinking about how to align AI innovation with the welfare of working Minnesotans and hope our report moves us towards a productive conversation in MN.
96% of business execs say AI will ⬆️ productivity. 77% of workers say AI has ⬇️ their productivity. Our latest report addresses this disconnect by measuring AI’s impact on MN workers and offering policies to align AI innovation with worker welfare. northstarpolicy.org/progress…
AI is coming, and our policies are already behind the ball. Our latest research shows the impact AI will have on MN's working people, and suggests some steps our state can take to protect workers. #mnleg

Hey Minnesota, check out Alaska and Missouri.
Thanks to #workers & advocates, a combined 590,000 workers in #Alaska & #Missouri will see the #MinimumWage go⬆️to $15. Tipped workers in #Arizona also defeated a ballot initiative that would have cut their wages. This 🧵showcases the coalitions that made these victories possible

Have the Russian bomb threats targeted any Republican-majority polling places? or only Democratic ones?

BREAKING: Kentucky voters are projected to have rejected an amendment that would allow the legislature to direct public money to unaccountable private schools in the form of vouchers.
Nebraska is voting on a similar measure.
Signature mismatch should not be a reason to throw out a ballot this is so dumb.
Nevada’s secretary of state, seeing high number of rejected ballots in Clark and Washoe, says one of the biggest issues is that the signatures of younger voters don’t always match what’s on their driver’s licenses:
“It’s mostly the fact that young people don’t have signatures these days. And when they did register to vote through the automatic voter registration process, they signed a digital pad at D.M.V., and that became their license signature.”

Elizer Darus, one of the leaders of the Restore The Vote movement in Minnesota, votes for the first time in a presidential election at the age of 40. The Legislature cleared the way last year for people on probation to vote.
Disinformation is everywhere, like some local GOP hacks making up stuff about antifa in the suburbs.
New: The FBI is warning about a fabricated video purporting to be an alert issued by the FBI urging Americans to “vote remotely” due to a high terror threat at polling stations. The FBI is also flagging a video containing a fake FBI press release alleging that the management of five prisons in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona rigged inmate voting and colluded with a political party. Disinformation is everywhere.
