Sailing with the MCM Black Sea Task Group & Exclusive Interviews with Rear Admiral Özgür ERKEN and Captain (N) Cüneyt TALAYMAN ⭕️ To gain first-hand insight into the activities conducted during the 10th activation of the Mine Countermeasures Black Sea (MCM Black Sea) Task Group and to learn more about its establishment, mission, command structure, and achievements in countering the drifting mine threat in the Black Sea, Defence Turkey received special permission from the Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MoND) to embark on board the Turkish Navy minehunter TCG Ayvalık (M-267) on 23 June 2026. 🛡️ Departing from Umuryeri Naval Base, we sailed into the Western Black Sea, where TCG Ayvalık rendezvoused with the flagship TCG Üsteğmen Arif Ekmekçi (A-575) approximately 10 nautical miles north of the İstanbul Strait Command for a scheduled joint training activity. ⭕️ During the deployment, we were accompanied aboard TCG Ayvalık by Rear Admiral Özgür ERKEN, Commander of the Turkish Navy İstanbul Strait Command and Commander of the MCM Black Sea Task Group during Türkiye's current six-month command period. On board the flagship, Captain (N) Cüneyt TALAYMAN, Commander of the MCM Black Sea Task Unit, welcomed us and provided a comprehensive briefing on the participating ships, the operational objectives of the 10th activation, and the day's training serials. Haftalık Basın Bilgilendirme Toplantısı, BAYKAR’ın İstanbul’daki Özdemir Bayraktar Millî Teknoloji Merkezi’nde Gerçekleştirildi ⭕️ 30 Ağustos’ta Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti Girne’den Taşucu/Mersin’e seyir hâlinde bulunan yolcu gemisinin alabora olması sonucu meydana gelen elim kazada arama kurtarma çalışmalarına, Deniz Kuvvetlerimize ait TCG Işın ve TCG Alemdar dâhil olmak üzere 7 gemi ve 11 hava aracı ile hâlihazırda destek sağlanmaktadır. ⭕️ 2 Eylül’de Marmara Denizi Silivri açıklarında iki ticari geminin çarpışması sonucu batan gemi ve mürettebatına yönelik arama kurtarma çalışmalarına; Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanlığımıza bağlı 4 gemi ve 1 İHA ile Hava Kuvvetleri Komutanlığımıza bağlı 1 uçak ve 1 arama kurtarma helikopteri tarafından ilgili kurumlarla koordinasyon içerisinde destek sağlanıyor. Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri için eğitim ve tatbikat faaliyetleri; ⭕️ Bosna-Hersek’te ilk kez düzenlenen Balkan Kalkanı Fuarı kapsamında, MKE ile Mısır Askerî Üretim Bakanlığı arasında, savunma sanayisi alanındaki mevcut iş birliğinin geliştirilmesi ve yeni iş birliği alanlarının oluşturulmasına yönelik Mutabakat Zaptı imzalandı. ⭕️Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanlığımızca muhtelif miktarda; Zırhlı Tanksavar Aracı OMTAS ile Karinalı Bot Sistemi’nin muayene ve kabul faaliyetleri tamamlandı. ⭕️ Hava Kuvvetleri Komutanlığımızın harekât ihtiyacının karşılanması amacıyla Birleşik Krallık Hükûmeti ile imzalanan Eurofighter Typhoon uçağı tedariki kapsamında, Ağustos ayında pilotlarımızın eğitimleri başlamıştır. Terminoloji eğitimlerini tamamlayan pilotlarımızın uçuş eğitimlerine 7 Eylül 2026 tarihinde başlaması planlanıyor.
