On his way to Mar-a-Lago? Defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro landed in Miami on Wednesday, after Brazilian authorities canceled his passports amid a money-laundering investigation. His whereabouts were a mystery for 24 hours before he finally made it to the U.S. The Trump administration plans to issue visas for him and his family.

I'm very clear that this is a comment on the industry and not the journalist. I have no idea about the merits or not of his investigation because what most people don't seem to realise is that @timeshighered never published it. It may be a first to be nominated for a prize for a story that never ran. But the issue I'm raising is the optics of a ballroom full of pissed-up journalists celebrating the gotcha of a man who took his own life.
Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt has been made to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

49 years ago today, Queen released 'News of the World' in the UK. October 28, 1977. Elektra followed in the US on November 1. Their sixth studio album opened with a one-two punch: We Will Rock You straight into We Are the Champions. The two songs shared a single, released on October 7 with Champions as the A-side, and it reached No. 2 in the UK and No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album peaked at No. 4 in the UK and did even better in America, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and going platinum. It was the first time a Queen album fared better in the US than at home. The cover is Frank Kelly Freas's giant robot, repainted from his October 1953 cover for Astounding Science Fiction, now holding the band. 👑 Roger Taylor and John Deacon wrote two songs each on this album. What's your favorite track on News of the World? 👑

Healey continued the Hunt/Reeves policy of freezing income tax thresholds, which claws back more money from workers' pay when they are trying to keep pace with inflation. We are also soon going to get cuts to benefits for NEETs and cuts to PIP payments. It is clearly more #austerity. thetimes.com/business/econom…

Racists used to be afraid to speak. Now they're shameless. I don't care if they're burning hotels or writing in the Spectator, we've made it too easy for them with this "legitimate concerns" wank. We need to bring back shame for racists.

This is 255 seconds of the US President speaking in explicitly homoerotic terms—including simulated fellatio and ass-grabbing—about a candidate for Senate. It’s difficult to watch—like a car accident. Try and read it. “I said, wait a minute. You got to be kidding. He's like, very quiet. And I never really looked at him because it's never been my thing to look at men, but I like men, but I've never been particularly attracted. Sorry. And what I do is I call like, I'm going to call Ken up, say a couple of words and he'll say a couple of words. So I called John up and again, John Gruden just, in fact, he said something that was amazing because he's such a fine man. John used that is as the Senator, but he's running for reelection against a real sleazebag who got thrown out years ago, defeated by Bernie Marino, who's a great Senator, but he was defeated. So he was thrown and now he's running again against John. And I called John up, but John Gruden said one thing that got me and I couldn't believe it because you know, it's such a high quality person. He said in the football games, he would rip people's heads off when he tackled them. He was so tough. He would just, I said, was he the best? He said he was the best player on the team. And that's why I'm here. I was surprised to see him. I said, what do you do there? I'm here to be with my teammate. John Husted. He said, yeah, he was the best. He was an all American. And a few people understood that when I started talking about him, guy shot. He was an all American, sir. And so, but he was, he's a humble guy. So he didn't talk about it. So I brought him up and he started speaking. Thank you very much. Very much. And you know, he said a few words and I was standing right here and I'm studying him because John Gruden is a great coach. One of the best said that this guy's one of the best players he's ever been associated with. Best player on a championship team, all America. And I never knew he even played football. So I'm studying him. And I made the mistake of saying that I started off by studying his ass. I just want to say. And then I looked at his feet and they were massive. Then I looked at his hands, see these hands. He's a nice head. They're fine. He had fingers like sausages. I looked at his hands. I said, look at it guys. And then I patted him on the shoulder. I said, great job, John. He said a few words. I said, great job. And I hurt my hand. It was like I was hitting steel, but I made the mistake of studying his anatomy and explaining it to the audience and the audience loved it. By the way, he went up 12 points that day. He went from being down to being up. Maybe I should do that with Ken Paxton, but I'm not sure your body is going to qualify. I'm going to do it with Ken. No, but I would say so what happens is so John leaves. I told us everybody had fun, you know, but the people appreciate it because they didn't know. A lot of them didn't know. 95% didn't know. And the fake news did it to me. They only covered the ass part. They said, they said, this is news cable freaks. And I think ABC fake news, one of the worst. And they said, what the hell was Trump doing talking about a man's anatomy? What, what's his problem? What's why is he doing this? And I explained it. He was talking about his ass and his feet. What was he doing? You know what I was in and they know, but they actually had me and they'd only say I studied his ass after that. It was to see where the power came from because he was a violent tackler anyway, but they did it to me beautifully. That's no different than walking into walls and saying, Oh, my wife said, Oh my, are you okay, darling? So no, they're fake news. That's why I came up with that term. That was my term. We have a lot of good terms. I could give you a lot of them. Pocahontas.”

TMZ is reporting it, yet I doubt any American knows who this fucking guy is. "Some sex offender from the show Little Britain throws himself off London Bridge" is hardly going to cause the nation to have national holiday in his memory.

49 years ago today, the Sex Pistols released 'Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols' on Virgin in the UK. October 28, 1977. Warner Bros. put it out in the US on November 11. Their only studio album was produced by Chris Thomas and Bill Price at Wessex Sound in London. It gathered all four singles, Anarchy in the UK, God Save the Queen, Pretty Vacant and Holidays in the Sun, alongside Bodies, EMI, Problems and more. Sid Vicious, who replaced Glen Matlock in early 1977, played only partial bass on Bodies and God Save the Queen. With 125,000 advance orders it debuted at No. 1 on the UK chart, even as major retailers banned it and some charts left a blank space where the title should be. In America it peaked at No. 106 but went platinum in 1992. Jamie Reid's cover skipped band photos for dayglo yellow and pink with cutout lettering. 🎸 Steve Jones played most of the bass on this album. What's your favorite track on Never Mind the Bollocks? 🎸

This is this most damning thing in the Epstein files and the media has still ignored it. Peter Thiel created the group that turned Russian hacked emails into conspiracy theories about Hillary—MAGA3X. Thiel coordinated with the Russians through Jeffrey Epstein—for YEARS. Trump, Thiel, and Musk are all so thoroughly compromised by their own treason they are effectively Russian agents. Putin must be defeated. Traitors must face consequences. Russia, Russia, Russia
On Oct 7, 2016, an emergency meeting was set by infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein with Palantir founder Peter Thiel, and Russian Ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin. Later that day, the Access Hollywood tape came out, followed by Russian-hacked emails being released on Wikileaks, which were systematically painted by alt-right online trolls paid by Thiel’s PAC MAGA3X to mean that Hillary Clinton was involved in child sex trafficking. Mike Flynn and Erik Prince both worked to amplify these false, traumatic narratives about Podesta and a cabal of Satanic pedophiles run by Hillary. This was done significantly through Breitbart, which was run by Epstein close friend Steve Bannon, and funded by Rebekah Mercer. Additional firepower for these psychological operations was provided by Wagner chief Yvgeny Prigozhin’s Internet Research Agency—later charged by Robert Mueller. Up to 600 Russians were dedicated to the 2016 election on Twitter and Facebook. The smearing of Hillary Clinton, which mirrored Epstein and Trump’s own documented child rape, was later branded as Pizzagate—and extended by QAnon. It was all systematic, large-scale projection designed to swing a presidential election through psychological warfare. Thiel was the only major donor who supported Trump in the wake of Trump’s comments about grabbing women by the genitals on video. Palantir had previously been caught planning to run a covert influence operation on Wikileaks. A month after Trump’s inauguration, Vitaly Churkin suddenly died. We were looking for “Russian collusion” in the wrong place.
