I'm very unhappy with X just now. While many friends and colleagues have left X in the three-plus years since @elonmusk purchased it, I have stayed with X. I have been a premium member for many years. As a syndicated columnist, I post my work on X, which can be seen in my profile. However, X just emailed me an invoice that more than doubled my annual premium- membership cost -- from $168 to $395. Research reveals this is a higher tier called Premium-+. I did not ask to go to a higher tier and don't need it. X just stole $227 from me with zero contact. Every way it says I can inquire about this does not work -- not email ("Our customer support options have changed and this mailbox is no longer monitored"), not DM, no phone support. Let's see if this post prompts someone at X to reach out to me. @AngelaZepeda @kcoleman This @wikipedia article describes my biography: bit.ly/40EM2bu

And @ESPNNBA @espn announcers are just nonstop chatterboxes! 😡

Watching the @DetroitPistons play the @cavs. @espn @ESPNNBA is soooo annoying -- 10-minute "in-game interview" with @spidadmitchell! Even if it was a Piston, I don't want a long interruption in the live game -- especially in the third quarter. Mitchell had nothing original to say, one cliche after another. Come on, ESPN -- get your act together. 😡

Did @kevinolearytv really just pull a completely bogus number out of his butt? No one really knows how many undocumented foreigners are in the US, but the highest number I've heard in years of covering #Immigrationpolicy #Immigration is 12 million. Watch/hear O'Leary double that figure based on complete fiction:

Just got my @DominionEnergy #electric bill - daily usage down 10% from a year ago, daily cost up 7%. Thank you, @POTUS! @realDonaldTrump following through on promise to cut #InflationHedge

Seems like @realDonaldTrump #Trump has backed off his threat to make #university sign rightwing "compacts". Typical BS bluster from the #orange man. Honored that my column criticizing the idea ran in 100-plus newspapers and other #news outlets including @orlandosentinel, @MiamiHerald, #fortworth @startelegram: Counterpoint: Trump’s compact would cripple universities

There are exceptions to the saying, "Don't speak ill of the dead." #CharlieKirkshot is one of them. Honored that my column about him ran in some 60 #newspapers and #news outlets around the #country. Among them: @CityofFortWorth @startelegram, @CityofMiami @MiamiHerald, @KansasCity @KCStar. He was a #racist and engaged in #Antisemitism. #miami #fortworthtexas #kansascity: https:/www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/counterpoint-lionization-of-kirk-is-all-wrong/ar-AA1MNxJM

In researching my most recent column, I was surprised to learn that the #gender gap is growing on American campuses -- mainly because fewer white young men of the #Trump persuasion are applying. To put it in words their clueless leader might say, they think it's for sissies (and that's a sanitized version of the P-word). Which gives attending #college a new and historically important mission: tucson.com/opinion/column/ar…

No need to criticize @realDonaldTrump #TrumpTariffsWars #tariffsaretaxes -- the sinking @NYSE #stockmarketcrash #stocks will force him to retreat. It's all he really cares about: Stocks Fall Around the World as Trump Tariffs Loom - The New York Times

Apologies -- fixing a few typos in my tweet of 10 minutes ago: @Newsweek should be ashamed of themselves for running a "new" article with the clickbait headline "Kamala Harris Not Leading a Single Battleground State in New Poll." The "article" is about one series of old polls in five states -- conducted by Navigator Research, a polling group I've never heard of in many years of covering elections. The polls were taken July 31 to August 8. So their oldest data is three weeks old and their freshest data is 13 days old. Five more recent polls in #Wisconsin show @VP #Harris from running even to up by 9 there. In two more recent polls in #Michigan, @realDonaldTrump is up by 1 in one survey while Harris is up by 6 in another. In six more recent polls in @PennsylvaniaGov, Trump leads by 1 in three, Harris leads by 1-3 points in three. More recent polls in Arizona show mixed results, but Harris' biggest lead is larger than Trump's biggest lead. North Carolina is also mixed, with each candidate's biggest lead at 4. So the truth is almost the opposite of Newsweek's disgraceful headline. My question: Was the headline -- or even the article itself -- written by a real person or by a bot? The byline shows reporter @MarthaMchardy, whose @LinkedIn profile shows she's worked for Newsweek just a single month -- and has scant political reporting experience before that. (A sidenote: I can't provide links to the above cites because @elonmusk ended that crucial part of X/Twitter, just one of his recent bad business moves. You can find the offending Newsweek article by Googling with the exact headline above plus "Newsweek.")

As you consider the allegedly negative polling of @VP #Kamala Harris reported in this @Newsweek piece (newsweek.com/kamala-harris-c…), consider the historically negative performance of the pollster = @MorningConsult. As my @BostonGlobe column noted here -- (bostonglobe.com/2024/04/03/o…) -- a @FiveThirtyEight analysis ranked Morning Consult #116 among all pollsters in accuracy going back to 1998 in elections for president, #Senate, House and #governor : projects.fivethirtyeight.com…
