I cook for a living, and NY really ain't it right now. Manhattan will come back. But not before sooo many more amazing Indy restaurants continue to close; the deck so stacked. Winter is gonna keep coming for us.
I miss my old friend Josh Ozersky. I wonder what he might think about the state of NY restaurants? I'm still in the trenches, but most of what I see is so pale. PR teams and influencers have all but sealed our fate. The sheeple have spoken.
Part of me wants to start writing about food in NY. All these yokals making content helping to destroy what's left of NY restaurant culture; but I don't know; I think I'd just come off over seasoned. Salty.
Socials killed sub-culture. It's wild that you used to have to ACTUALLY engage in the culture to somewhat feel a part of it. When intel; and being down was actually earned... sigh
