Terrible news in our community. A colleague of mine lost her husband and two boys in a small plane crash near the West Elks. Kindest sweetest woman I had the opportunity to teach with just had the worst happen to her. My girls knew her boys well. Hold onto your loved ones.
Years later, without fail, as a family we sit down to a cozy fire on a rainy October evening and get inspired by @realhomerhickam Rocket Boy story in the film October Sky.
Now my girls are high schoolers and dreaming of their futures!

I had a way too noticeable chunk of money deposit into my checking account from the IRS labeled tax refund this morning.
Bigger than any refund I’ve ever gotten.
This clearly has to be an error.
Put on the winter tires for the season when I normally run Nitto Grappler AT’s on the model y.

AT’s are loud 😂
I find something as fundamental to an EV experience such as charger navigation and pre conditioning to be a baked in standard and not a paid feature.

One of my favorite legs of my commute is passing along sheep pastures in Grass Valley. There are days, like today, that remind me of the visuals from the film Arrival.

After dinner (bacon potato soup!) it was time to refill the wood ring with the @Ford Lightning then pro power for home electricity.
Our only source of heat is our trusty woodstove.
The room becomes the epicenter for our family as we all draw in to its warmth. 😂
@rossiadam @rhensing a great way to build in family time with the teens: gotta cut wood in the summer; in the winter we all want to be in the same space 😂 presto family time!

This morning Mt Sopris has been crowned by an interesting cloud formation!
Also, our ridge on the flattops is very windy today; I suspect we’ll lose nearly all our leaves today.

My school is 4 days a week. Friday is my ranch chore day. Free town dump day so brought a truckload of rubbish down.
Now installing a new toilet. In between jobs taking a breather on the deck. Loving the view.
Staying up to watch the Draconid meteor shower with my daughter but not seeing much.
However our dark sky and constellation finding is fun!
