Several folks have sent us views of this cool cloud. It's a pileus which is a smooth, cap-like cloud that forms above a rapidly growing thunderstorm when rising air cools and condenses into a thin layer of moisture. Yes, resembles a UFO.
Our spaceship has arrived (over downtown DC). @capitalweather

Ten years a former senior Pentagon official told me what I thought was an apocryphal story: American spies had saved Steve Jobs, and by extension, Apple. Tracking it down became a personal obsession and the starting point for my new book, Valley of Death. I'm thrilled to share the excerpt about Jobs and the CIA published today in the @WSJ. wsj.com/tech/steve-jobs-appl…

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

In response to today’s DC Circuit decision in our First Amendment, Protection of Confidential Sources case: Lead Counsel: Pat Philbin  “We are disappointed with this decision and are considering options for further review.   Ms. Herridge is particularly disappointed that, by refusing to unseal material in the record, the Court has ruled on First Amendment rights while keeping important information in the case secret.  Ms. Herridge remains committed to protecting reporters’ First Amendment rights and confidential sources.” 👇 courtlistener.com/docket/683…
