Here's the latest Social Security news-- both what you've seen in the headlines today and also a threat we're tracking.
Nope we DON’T endorse. But we will show up and speak out for issues that we think are important for those age 50 plus and their families!
This is the kind of work AARP does!!
It's officially election season, folks.

My message today is for the younger folks: Don't let them scare you into giving away what you earned.

And Social Security truly is YOURS. You pay into it with every paycheck. You earn it over a lifetime of hard work.
So if we here at AARP are accused of being guilty of fighting too hard to protect and strengthen it... Well, we’ll wear that as a badge of honor.
Let me say this clearly: Social Security is America’s greatest promise to its people, and AARP will ALWAYS fight against cuts to your Social Security. 🧵 2/6
It was a GREAT segment!! Thanks to all!!
Thanks to @TJMeadows304 & @DaveWilsonMN for a great conversation today with @AARPadvocates @jhishta, discussing the future of Social Security on @WVMetroNews Talkline.
John’s a smart guy! Listen to what he has to say!!!
We’re bringing the important conversation on Social Security’s future to a statewide audience today, as @AARPadvocates SVP @jhishta visits with WV media outlets.
Catch John’s interview with @WOWK13News’ Rick Johnson this weekend on @NXSTMediaGroup Inside WV Politics.

.@LarryOConnor asked me what it means when folks say that Social Security will be "insolvent" if Congress doesn't act.
I agree with John!
It's a no-brainer that something as important as personal medical decisions should remain in the hands of patients, families, and trusted health providers.
That's why we're urging senators to vote "yes" on a resolution to end the ill-advised WISeR program in Medicare and protect American seniors' healthcare.
