The loss of Hilary Mantel feels like a theft of a kind. All those books we still needed from her. That lavish imagination, that beady understanding of power. From the final book in the trilogy: “This is what life does for you in the end; it arranges a fight you can't win.”
The basic principal of any environmental push should be: make it easy for folks to do the right thing and hard to do the wrong thing. This decision is non-sensical and deeply foolish. And a middle finger to Richmond area efforts in sustainability. Chesterfield should be ashamed.
The decision not only impacts 61,000 households across Chesterfield but thousands of families in other Central Virginia localities including neighboring Henrico County.
