College football’s most carefully guarded secret is the amount of money flowing to the players on each roster.
So we reached out to 70 sources across the sport.

“If they win the World Cup, I’m totally taking credit.
“I hope they’re playing on the table, I hope they’re having a blast. I hope the good energy that that table brought us carries right over into their game.
“I will say, one of the funniest things that has happened, of course, in case my head gets too big about this whole crazy story blowing up: My youngest grandson just turned six, and when his mom told him Nana’s going to be on TV, he said, ‘Is Nana in jail?’”
Lynne Brown, the Kansas grandmother who sold her pool table to England’s World Cup team for $700.

After graduating from UCLA this weekend, I’m deeply grateful that what began as an internship 10 months ago will continue in a newsroom I’ve long admired.

It's not just about the money, but it's about that too. It's about supporting a head coach who's embraced Notre Dame at every step. It's about a flawed process that left the football program in a position of weakness.
And Marcus Freeman deserves better.
