Roughly seems like Dems will have 50 seats in the FL State House. Unless I’m counting wrong. Just pure madness.
GOP almost lost Senator DiCeglie and might lose Senator Garcia. Senator Calatauyed is in serious trouble.
The state house results are leaving me speechless. So many flips. Or ones on the brink.
Felt this on Election Day for my primary. Lots of standing at the poll and talking to people. Watching the clock when you weren’t talking. Certainly the weirdest feeling I’ve had and incredibly boring.
FWIW, my non-scientific belief is that we need R’s to have no better than an R+18/+19 day. Less obviously better. But even then it is a tall task. I’m not sure Dems can pull 60% of NPA’s w/ R 8-10% defections.
What better way to prepare for tomorrow than a Schale write-up. Inshallah Florida man will see one of our Dems win statewide.
My final thoughts about Florida, what I’m watching for on Election Day - and what races in FL might foreshadow results outside of FL…and where I’ll be for the Jags game on Thursday night.

Last week I mentioned that the collapse of youth voter turnout for Republicans was very likely. You can read some of my comments here.
The key for Democrats is turning this young GOP male anger into persuasion for Democrats. There hasn’t been anything on that front.
Here is turnout by Age/Race (divided by party)
Democrats have a turnout advantage over Republicans with every age/racial group except for one. Hispanics 65+ have near even turnout between the two sides
Young Democrats are showing up, Young Republicans are NOT #flapol

Apocalyptic prediction for GOP via the most accurate pollster of 2024. In FL, we would likely see 1-2 random state leg. Dem candidates who have barely raised a dollar win some seats. Just to put into perspective.
You have to expect that if the Gov race is on the board, then @JoseJavierJJR and @Annette_Taddeo are looking well too. Scandals and no name ID plague Uthmeier and Ingoglia. I think one can reasonably expect Taddeo and JJR to pull the most NPA’s of statewide candidates.
