How f$&king good are Dots 🤯 @OpenAI @sama @thsottiaux
Mind blown. Day one and I’ve spent hours with mine in the first day. Magic and unbelievably impressed 🔥
I’m curious why AI doomers are so fixated on the apocalypse. The future we could build instead is far more compelling
What an epic day. We’re not racing towards the future anymore. We’re deep inside the acceleration, with massive breakthroughs in technology and longevity unfolding in real time. Mind blown 🤯
HUGE breakthrough out today, in arguably the single most neglected aspect of aging, extracellular matrix damage. Top researchers have tried & failed for decades to do this. Massive kudos to Aaron and his team! (Proud to note that Revel is a SENS spinout.) revelpharmaceuticals.com/new…
Cooking! 🔥
It’s Codex Thursday, and yes, we have updates for you.
First up: Appshots, a new way to bring the context of what you’re working on into Codex.
On your Mac, press Command-Command to attach your app window to a Codex thread. Codex gets both a screenshot and text from the window, including content beyond what’s visible onscreen.
Appshots are available across plans on Mac, with enterprise access coming soon.

-craft offers so good people feel stupid saying no
-write ad copy that turns strangers into buyers
-understand your dream customer's psychology

This is brilliant. They nailed almost every single influencer archetype. God help us all 💀🤦♂️
So good! 👌
Based on everything I’ve seen, a simple recipe can work: focus on what’s in front of you, design great days to create a great life, and try not to make the same mistake twice. That’s it. If you really want extra credit, try not to be a dick, and you’ll be a Voltron-level superstar.
The secret to winning any game lies in not trying too hard.
Feeling as though you are trying too hard indicates that your priorities, technique, focus, or mindfulness is off. Take it as a cue to reset, not to double down. And take comfort in the fact that, whenever in doubt, the answer is probably hidden in plain sight.
What would this look like if it were easy?
In a world where nobody really knows anything, you have the incredible freedom to continually reinvent yourself and forge new paths, no matter how strange.
Embrace your weird self.
There is no one right answer . . . only better questions.
Slow productivity resonates!
Clear the deck, get clear, execute like an artist 🧑🎨

A reframe for 2024 is how I think about the “New Year”.
I’ve forever hung onto the idea that I’ll get to end of the year and take a breather. It’s such a flawed idea.
If that’s how I operate then I’m executing life poorly, or I’m not in the drivers seat.
🤔
This resonates deeply! Thanks @tferriss
“The world is but a canvas to our imagination.”
Type-A personalities have goal pursuit as default hardwiring. This is excellent for producing achievement, but also anxiety, as you’re constantly future-focused. I’ve personally decided that achievement is no more than a passing grade in life. It’s a C+ that gets you limping along to the next grade. For anything more, and certainly for anything approaching happiness, you have to want what you already have.
Got an intro lesson from ChatGPT on Q* and Q-Learning. If this is real? 🤯
@abkrishan you seen this bro?
This is good! There’s an eerie @ilyasut message
with sam and greg ousted yesterday
my initial thought yesterday was “shit they have discovered AGI” and the only person who was capable of understanding it was ilya sutskever.
now it’s seems even more an more plausible that is the case. to understand the amount of stress and pressure he must have been under i urge you to watch this short documentary.
this was recorded during the development of chatGPT. but the sincere stream of thought about the greater good AND the bad that will come from AI might put it more clear to why this might have happened.
my thesis, they have had AGI internally for a while, and Ilya, andrej karpathy might have been the first ones to grasp what they have made.
to be clear, geoff hinton regrets his life’s work (the work on AI) due to him worry about all the bad it can be used for.
maybe ilya is under similar pressure. to much for one person to bear.
regardless, we will know more soon.
i feel for all involved parties, and for the community at large. this is not great.

Theory: AGI / ASI has been achieved internally @OpenAI, so @ilyasut hit the panic button and staged a coup.
Evidence:
10/6: @ilyasut tweets: “If you value intelligence above all other human quality, you’re gonna have a bad time”
10/16: at APEC, @sama proclaims: “4 times in the history of OpenAI––the most recent time was in the last couple of weeks––I’ve gotten to be in the room when we push the veil of ignorance back and the frontier of discovery forward. Getting to do that is the professional honor of a lifetime.”
This would explain everything.
