Fall Preview: Jayvin Bennett Ready to Make His Mark at Tight End @jayvin_bennett After arriving from one of the nation's premier high school football programs, Jayvin Bennett enters the 2026 season looking to establish himself as a key piece of Troy's tight end room. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound sophomore from Buford, Georgia, brings a physical style of play and championship pedigree to the Trojans' offense. A product of powerhouse Buford High School, Bennett competed against elite competition throughout his prep career, developing into a versatile tight end capable of contributing as both a blocker and pass catcher. His experience in one of Georgia's top football programs prepared him for the demands of Division I football and laid the foundation for his continued growth at Troy. Now entering his second season in the program, Bennett has had a full year to develop physically, learn the offensive system, and refine his technique. That experience should position him to compete for a larger role in 2026 as the Trojans look for reliable production from the tight end position. Why He's Important Troy's offense values tight ends who can do it all—block in the run game, protect the quarterback, and create mismatches in the passing game. Bennett's physicality, toughness, and athleticism give him the tools to contribute in each of those areas. As he continues to develop, he has the potential to become an important weapon in both the running and passing attacks.
