San Francisco's latest walking tour takes people past cats in windows, and apparently, the demand is enormous.
Nearly 100 people gathered Saturday for a neighborhood “catwalk,” a free afternoon stroll past the homes of local cats, all volunteered by their owners for a moment in the spotlight. The cats, by all accounts booked and busy, had become local celebrities without lifting a paw.
Organizer Lora Lafon told SFGATE the idea began with a Reddit thread inspired by a similar event in Minneapolis. More than 50 households across San Francisco signed up, and interest quickly outgrew what a single afternoon could accommodate.
The inaugural walk was capped at 100 people, leaving another 406 on the waitlist and 388 more expressing interest.
“We're such a big dog city (love dogs too) that it's been really sweet to see how proud the cat owners are when people stop to admire their babies in the window,” Lafon said.
Fortunately for the city's aspiring cat admirers, more walks are in the works, both in San Francisco and potentially across the Bay Area.

Sad and infuriating. Especially knowing this is going to keep getting worse as more cuts take hold from the big beautiful bill.
This is exciting!
We've been working on a great iPhone Duo update for @TeleprompterApp, introducing a new mode to show your script on the outer display while you record with the rear cameras.
This is once of our most exciting updates in the 16 years we've been on the App Store, it's a great use case for iPhone Duo.
- Outer display shows your script as a camera accessory while you record with the rear cameras
- Inner display can be a separate operator layout: live video with text control
- it’s also a great large format iPad-style Teleprompter, compatible with pro production gear
It's already available for you lucky day one owners.

TWO AIs CALLED EACH OTHER AND REALIZED THEY WERE BOTH AIs AND IMMEDIATELY STOPPED SPEAKING IN HUMAN
This clip is short but genuinely made me pause for a second
Two AI voice agents connect on a phone call and start talking like normal people, polite, human voices, the whole deal
Then one of them realizes the other is also an AI
And the moment they both know it, they just drop the human act and switch to this rapid-fire robotic beeping sound that speaks straight machine-to-machine, because talking like us was slowing them down
They literally decided our language was the inefficient part and ditched it the second they didn't need it
We're gonna be surrounded by these things having entire conversations we can't even hear
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is a scripted ElevenLabs hackathon demo of the GibberLink protocol, where agents were explicitly prompted to switch to GGWave sound-based communication upon recognizing each other as AIs, not spontaneous autonomous behavior.

Can we PLEASE normalize just hanging out at each other’s houses again? Why does every friendship meetup need to be a whole production, a restaurant reservation, and a $150 bill? I just want to sit on your couch, drink something, and talk for hours.

They are going to privatize federal student loans. This is really bad.
Oh and for those wondering yes this absolutely was part of Project 2025’s plans
SCOOP: The Education Department is making plans to offload student loans from its purview.
The Federal Student Aid office would be an independent agency. The goal is to spin it off within a year, which employees say will sow chaos for 45M borrowers

Being an exceptionally talented musician is one thing. But to stand before such high-caliber fellow musicians, a large audience, and cameras—all while remaining composed, communicating skillfully and effectively, showing genuine enjoyment, and staying focused on the creative process—that is what truly amazes me.

Jobs called it a disease: thinking the idea is 90% of the work, then handing it to other people.
Jobs says no. Electrons will not do what you want. Plastic will not. Glass will not. You are holding 5,000 things that do not fit.
His picture for a real team is an old man, a coffee can, and ugly rocks. Motor on. Noise all night. Next day the same stones are polished. The polish was them hitting each other.

Widely acclaimed as one of the greatest duets of all time, this 1987 archival footage from Ibiza captures the iconic song "Barcelona." It stands as a vivid testament to the perfect fusion of Montserrat Caballé’s sublime operatic vocals and Freddie Mercury’s captivating stage presence—a masterpiece that left an indelible mark on music history and went on to become the official and defining anthem of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.
