We are completing the first round of pollinator surveys across 10 mixed-crop agro-ecosystems in Rwanda. Early data shows pesticide use as the main threat, with some sites showing low pollinator abundance and diversity. Three more seasonal rounds in 2026 will complete the baseline

📡 FIRST-OF-THEIR-KIND TRACKERS ARE ACTIVE! We have successfully deployed GPS loggers on Critically Endangered Hooded Vultures in Rwanda. Each logger will map movements to identify critical habitats and understand how vultures survive in human landscapes.

2/3 🌱Through Nature-Positive Financing for Community-Led Conservation, we’re partnering with the communities in Muyebe, Kondo & Rukoma villages. Last week: 7,500 avocado trees planted (Hass & Fuerte), advancing toward 10,000 trees by 2026. Conservation that grows livelihoods. 🥑

What a day! 🌍 Together with @REMA_Rwanda and @SCIRwanda, we successfully hosted the #WorldEnvironmentDay2025 celebration. The best part was seeing children pitch creative, practical projects to beat plastic pollution in their schools and communities. The future looks bright! 💡
Today, we were pleased to join @REMA_Rwanda to celebrate #WorldEnvironmentDay with an award ceremony recognising the winners of a school competition held at Kigali Convention Centre.
The event was officially opened by the Honorable @Dr_Uwamariya, Minister of Environment.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to @REMA_Rwanda, @nature_rwanda, District Education Directors, Headteachers, and teachers for their invaluable support in encouraging children to participate in this environmental school competition.
Together, we are empowering young minds to develop innovative initiatives to #BeatPlasticPollution.
Join me in this challenge! My goal is to ride at least 80 km per week on my bike over the next 5 months, and I’d love for you to be part of the journey. Let's push ourselves and stay motivated together! Get me here>>>> @relivecc! #GetOutThere relive.cc/view/vQvxQPVnz9O

As we stand together in unity as Rwandans, we solemnly remember the victims of the genocide against the Tutsi. We honor the lives lost, and we reflect on the deep scars left on our hearts and our nation.

It was truly an honor to engage with these young individuals on behalf of @nature_rwanda. It is critical to facilitate knowledge and experience sharing between the Global North and South, unlocking opportunities to support communities vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
