The Choir of St John's College at the University of Cambridge perform the Ascension Day carol from the top of the Chapel Tower. The custom dates back to 1902 and a debate about whether singing from the tower could be heard from the ground below

This letter from the co-directors of @BBCSingers to BBC is absolutely extraordinary: an angry attack on certain (named) execs and BBC bosses for a total failure in planning, professionalism and simple human decency. Huge. #bbc #BBCSingers slippedisc.com/2023/03/leake…

Still on a high after an extraordinary @CamUniOperaSoc production of The Magic Flute with many friends involved, excellently produced by @jeahancock. Student opera shouldn’t be this good!

We’ve been blown away by your outpouring of support over the weekend. We’re still mystified by the Arts Council’s decision to omit us from their 2023-26 funding portfolio, and are seeking clarity from them.

‘The show must go on’ was the attitude of all involved in our Advent Service after Director of Music @ANethsingha caught Covid & six choristers fell ill. Organ Scholar George, 20, stepped in to conduct the choir live on @BBCRadio3 👏👇 joh.cam.ac.uk/st-johns-chape… 📷Nordin Ćatić

1/3 One of the proudest days of my career: hearing superlatively talented organ scholar, George Herbert, conduct @SJCChoir Advent broadcast (2 days after my +ve Covid test.) Choristers sang SO well, with just 10 out of 16 well enough to sing. Gents simply outstanding as usual.

A great joy to welcome back members of the 2019/20 @SJCChoir, and to have a magnificent final Evensong 15 months late. Such wonderful people! My renewed thanks to them all, and to the families of ex-choristers. @stjohnscam @SJCS_Cambridge
