Today I found out I was one of eight Charlotte Observer reporters who will be laid off. In two weeks we - and many, many more at other McClatchy papers - will all be jobless. I don’t really know what else to say other than I hope people with job leads will help us out.

Early voters are allowed to vote at any precinct in their county in North Carolina. Property ownership is also not required to vote in the United States. Additionally, everyone, including students, have the constitutional right to protest in the United States.

No, Julie, this is a bunch of privileged, entitled, out of town students trying to shape local government in North Carolina. Student who aren’t residents and don’t own property, don’t get to decide where the voting locations are in North Carolina. They maybe able to do that in Philly, but we aren’t Philly.
