A lot of pundits are going to write a bunch of convoluted things about the election results in Israel, but the situation is simple: the opposition could IMMEDIATELY form a non-Netanyahu government with a clear majority, if - and only if - they invite the Arab-led parties to join.

What a line: "Most Israeli Jews now see the world the way Netanyahu has long seen it. That is Netanyahu’s great victory. But it is matched by his great loss: Much of the world now sees Israel the way Gazans see it." nytimes.com/2026/10/25/opini…

Out of touch liberal elites don’t understand that for the average American the Cheesecake Factory is the nicest place they can imagine. For these people, sweatpants are like tuxedos. They think of Tweety Bird as a kind of God. Don’t you dare condescend to them.

America, at some point you have to recognize that your friend is blind drunk and crazed with rage, and your job *as a good friend* is to take the fucking keys away from him.
"Israeli troops have levelled a neighbourhood in Hebron, driving out hundreds of families in collective punishment for a militant attack on an army checkpoint outside the West Bank city" Smotrich . called for “a comprehensive military campaign . exactly like in Gaza and Lebanon”

JFC people, it’s three hours long!
‘YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING’ earned $19.5M in its second weekend, a 25% increase from its opening weekend. It is tracking to become one of the highest grossing non-music documentaries of the century.

Defining strikes against targets inside occupied Ukrainian territory as “offensive” rather than “defensive” is… Well, it’s a take!
Replying to @elonmusk
For the fools out there, Zelensky himself posted about using Starlink for offensive drone strikes, which has always been against Starlink’s terms of service:

I’m not someone who insists that total victory for Ukraine is the only acceptable outcome here. But what makes this so gross is the underhandedness. If you want to kneecap Ukraine to force them to accept terms, then stand up and do it publicly.
A senior Ukrainian commander told me he lost more than $1 million in drones the first night StarShield went out. The next 3 days, speeds remained so unstable they canceled almost all ops striking RU logistics to protect Ukrainian infantry in the kill zone nytimes.com/2026/10/21/world…

I’d bet that, of all the constitutional amendments you could float, creating a wealth tax would be the easiest to actually pass.
My take on wealth taxes is they won't work well at the local or state level, because you're targeting the people with the greatest means and motivation to just pick up and move somewhere, and they won't work well at the national level, because they'd almost certainly require a constitutional amendment, just as federal income taxes did (the 16th Amendment), so in both cases you're creating a levy that is basically designed to disappear.

I actually gotta give Musk props here for the Monty Python reference. (The car is totally an empty stunt, though.)
Everything Yann said here is roughly correct, and Musk knows it, which is why he responded like a 14-year-old.

A country can certainly fail to assimilate its immigrants. Which can result in violence and unrest. But that failure results from bad policy choices. (Generally of the economic variety.) Not because of mismatches in any sort of fixed or essentialist “cultural” attributes.

(Yes, this is a tweet about France. Eurozone macro policy is terrible. Terrible macroeconomic policy produces permanent underclasses. When that underclass is drawn largely from immigrant communities and the non-underclass is not, you’ve got a powder keg. Run better macro.)

Q: Were Medicare and Medicaid mistakes? Vivek Ramaswamy: I believe they were. I think the evidence would show that it has harmed the very people that it was created to actually help
