Happy 92nd birthday Margaret Kerry! Kerry served as a live-action reference model for everyone's favorite pixie from Peter Pan (1953), Tinker Bell. ✨🧚🔔

In PREDATOR (1987) Dutch’s team fly out to their mission in a helicopter while blasting Little Richard’s “Long Tall Sally” which was the no. 45 hit song in 1956, 31 years earlier which means in 2021 Dutch’s team’s boom box would be blasting ...oh no

My wife was puzzled when I requested this book because she knows I’m not into hiking.

Notice that I said “ill intent” instead of “ill will.” This, my dears, is smart writing.
I once blurted to Will Eisner — with no ill intent — “My grandfather was a fan of your strips!”

I was NOT ready for this movie's choice to cast Tom Selleck as Dwight Eisenhower.

I think he didn't understand the appeal of the style he was (presumably) being asked to emulate, so he just copied its surface elements and obvious shortcomings, and the result was neither fish nor fowl.
I like Herb Trimpe’s Hulk and GI Joe art. In the 90s he was in his 50s and completely reinvented his style to match what was hot at the time. I respect that but the page here from Fantastic Four Annual #26 is BIZARRE!

Then, after his Marvel work dried up, his decades of working for one company apparently left him without an understanding of how to pitch himself to other companies. I read an interview with him at the time, and it was like,"Marvel stopped calling me. So...I had to leave comics."

As I was walking down the street late one night, I passed a homeless man lying in a doorway. He looked up and said,"Hey, Kevin Smith!"
compliments aside for a moment: what's your favourite *insult* you've ever received? On the subway, this guy a few seats over looked at me then said to his friend "why do all these gamer girls look like Skrillex, man?" To this day it gives me joy every time I think of it.

Heston's fedora and leather jacket in THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH remind me of another, later "man of action."
